Hi Michael, I am glad to hear you. Unfortunately, I am not very good. I did not mentioned before, but I fight my cancer for 15 years now. Currently, I am under chemo but continue my self resistance training. It helps to fight fatigue.

Sad to read about the cancer but you are obviously not going down without a fight. Well done, Bob m8.

In dealing with cancer hopelessness is not an option . Exercise as much as you can tolerate ( Google myokines( secretions of muscle contractions that among other benefits attack cancer))

Bob,
I'm also glad to see you here. I lost my little brother to cancer about six months ago now, and it just seems like yesterday. Hang in there and be strong for as long as you can be.

Bob, I'm also glad to see you here. I lost my little brother to cancer about six months ago now, and it just seems like yesterday. Hang in there and be strong for as long as you can be. Sorry to learn that Alan.....may he Rest In Peace I lost my mother and oldest brother to cancer, six weeks apart Thank you, Billfish, and my condolences for your loss. My little brother and I were close, but we had different points of view about life and death. He thought that there likely was some consciousness that survived death, but he wasn't really sure. I was pretty sure we do not survive death, and for decades, we had some interesting discussions about that, as well as many other things. My former rabbi used to say that if you had two Jews in a room arguing about something like that, you would have at least three or more opinions. That was certainly true of us. About two weeks before he died, he said that if he could, in the middle of the night he would jump out of my closet and say "Boo motherfucker!" just to prove a point I told him that if he failed to do that I would rag his ass throughout eternity and never forgive him for as long as he was alive. He had a great sense of humor right up to the end of his life. He never complained or whined about his pain, and the hospital staff loved him. He always let them know how much he appreciated their help. It's not so easy to accept that a nurse has to help you wipe your butt. Shortly before he died in the hospital, I was talking to him over the phone. He had been having trouble completely passing bowel movement as we were speaking. A nurse came to see if she could be of some assistance and asked him "are you okay?" He said "yeah, I'm just talking shit with my older brother." I could hear laughter throughout the ward. My brother Seth Christopher was a talented poet and singer, and he had a very quick and sharp wit. I will always treasure the memories of his songs, poems, and his humor. He faced his end with great dignity and courage.
I hope that it is not inappropriate to post this little memorial to my brother on a thread dedicated to honoring Bruce. But I think Seth Christopher and Bruce probably would've liked each other. Their humor was not dissimilar.

Alan Nice to learn a little about your brothers, I think Bruce would have appreciated your post My brother was like that, him and my sister-in-law handled it well, to listen to them speak you would not know what they were going through My mother fortunately died two weeks after being diagnosed....she went peacefully

"....Here, we report the discovery of an NR2F1 selective agonist that was used as a proof-of-concept tool compound to induce and activate NR2F1 leading to the powerful activation of a dormancy program in cancer cells. Importantly, use of this agonist in a preclinical neoadjuvant and adjuvant setting completely suppresses macrometastatic growth by inducing DTC dormancy. This anti-metastatic effect can persist even after cessation of the treatment, arguing for a durable reprogramming of malignant cells into dormancy. Our work reveals a proof-of-principle strategy to limit metastatic growth by activation of dormancy mechanisms...." ================== Ref: An NR2F1-specific agonist suppresses metastasis by inducing cancer cell dormancy | Journal of Experimental Medicine | Rockefeller University Press rupress.org/jem/article/219/1/e20210836/212873/An-NR2F1-specific-agonist-suppresses-metastasis-byNOTE: "C26" is a small molecule agonist that turns cancer cells dormant & suppresses metastasis.

Even though I didn't know Bruce well. I was saddened and lost for words to hear of his passing. I just want to say a thank you. Thank you for building this forum and passing on your knowledge to so many. Thanks for creating the hook and strap, I bought them both and was amazed by the high quality of the equipment. It's obvious that during your life you helped the lives of many and that you are sorely missed.

Damn. I haven’t been on the forums in a few years now, I think, but I used to be a consistent and regular lurker going back to Portal Guy’s. Like many others, I never met Bruce, and hardly interacted with him directly being that I was a lurker, but he always seemed like a genuine, nice guy. I think I first stumbled onto him (and gruntbrain) with all the homemade exercise equipment, something I still enjoy tinkering with myself. Lots Of novel, useful ideas. Several years ago I bought a strap and a pair of hooks and I use them in almost every workout. I’m just stunned that my first visit back in forever is to this news. RIP Bruce.
Take care, everyone. Toby
