One of my burpees comrades on YouTube posted an interesting video of him doing Navy Seals burpees on rings in a superset of doing what he calls inverted rows Navy Seals, again doing them on rings. I posted a comment on his channel giving him some kudos for his workout design creativity and he posted back an interesting comment. He said:
"The inverted rows Navy Seals is "part of my theory that horizontal movements should be practiced for long sets or explosive or both, and vertical movements slow, heavy, controlled to better mimic "real life" movements.
This statement has made be stop and ponder, thinking about what he said to discover my thoughts about it. Wondering what those here who have training wisdom thing about this young man's statement. Appreciate your two cents, thanks.

Is this "real life movement" he's talking about the back row ying to the pushup yang?

Is this "real life movement" he's talking about the back row ying to the pushup yang? I think he was genuinely referring to both. I judge him not to be a BS'er like some people here.
