Yep, too many people "believe" all sorts of hearsay nonsense about this physical training stuff without ever having actually tried things out for themselves. And then the misinformation spreads out amongst the clueless to the point that it becomes a 'known fact'. LOLOLOL... This sort of reminds me of the 'revelation' only X amount of years ago in the 'internet workout world' that strong abdominal muscles are probably just as important as having a strong back when lifting heavy... Really, you don't say ?.... LOLOLOLOL ...or the equally idiotic..."abs are made in the kitchen"... the second I hear that one I pretty much disregard anything else that person has to say on the subject of physical strength and culture. Only a person who's never actually had to perform a job where sustained heavy lifting was required over the course of a workday would make such a ridiculous 'claim'... The same type who like to display pictures of their "six pack abs" The thing is, abs are a muscle group, and they need to be worked like a muscle group. High reps, low reps, sets, amount of weight used (if any) are another story and not necessary to my point here... If later on after you've built some respectable muscle you want to show them off, then having minimal body fat will help to showcase them, but the dieting alone isn't going to build them up. Funny how the 'old timers' had this knowledge and then it seems to have been lost in time. And if anyone doubts what I'm saying go get yourself a pair of 'old fashioned' iron boots and try it out for yourself. Start doing leg raises with them on a consistent basis and you'll soon find out for yourself what the truth is...

Aside from not believing that my arms would ever bend again, even if someone had told me, I never would have believed that a Bicep poll could actually be this serious. Wow.

I decided I'm not going to touch this. Reason being, I believe it would be a waste of time to share anything with You. My experience with sharing things with You in the past seemed more for Your benefit than mine. Again I don't dislike You, I just have that used car salesman vibe from You when You post. That's one of the reasons I got away from JP. Most people here like exercise. If it becomes a fascination or obsession than that's when it's a problem. Like Stuke said, it's not a fascination. Maybe You're fascinated because You dislike the exercise or Your way is the way You think everyone should exercise, I don't know. I don't dislike any exercise or training type, not even stuff You do. I asked You a couple of questions about burpees in my one post. If You want to post about it's all You. Thanks for sharing Michael, fair enough and appreciate it. Since you made a fair comment about my wise guy post, why don’t you take your concern and make some comments about this elderly man here with a soiled diaper and a numbskull pea brain, who lets me occupy his brain rent fee, who constantly makes disparaging comments about anything that differs from how he sees things. After all, this is allegedly a fitness discussion forum for people to share and learn. The only thing others here have learned from what he posts and shares is that they don’t want to be like him. I wouldn’t hire him to do my manual labor because I don’t think he could understand instructions and I don’t talk elder jibberish, his primary language. Wishing you the best. I'm not here to argue with You or anyone. I just gave You my opinion. You guys have a history but that's between You and him. I'm not in control with what people post.

Oh Michael....you slacker, sitting home when you could be out doing hundreds of burpees and ripping the pullup bar off it's uprights Or you could hop on a plane and go out West to clean some superior person's yard while he busies himself flexing and dancing in front of his fun-house mirror that shows a 16 year old kid BTW.....I found something for you stiff - Wiktionaryhttps://en.wiktionary.org › wiki › stiff (slang, chiefly Canada, US) An average person, usually male, of no particular distinction, skill, or education. · (slang) A person who is deceived, as a mark or ... I’m in the odd ball crowd not doing any direct ab work. Didn’t do any direct ab work when doing the Olympic lifts 15 years ago. My abs got action from the heavy (for me) full range front and back squats I did. Cleans and heavy barbell good mornings worked my core muscles too. Nowadays, my ab/core training is indirect from KB swings, KB squats and various carries. There’s no doubt I have some weak spots and I’ve made a business decision to co-exist with them. If there’s something heavy to lift beyond my pay grade, I hire help. No need to prove anything to myself and besides, I can afford to hire help. Some people pay others to prepare their tax returns and others pay others to do their manual labor and heavy lifting.

Any exercise where the weight is carried out in front is fantastic for the abs and overall core. I'm also a big fan of Zercher squats for the same reason...

For the record, I just voted 'OTHER WHO'.
Thinking about starting a squats poll but after all the rumble with this question, I hesitate.

Maybe it’s better to say if you wish to display your abs, it’s done in the kitchen.
Clearly, there are guys who have “ no packs, or one packs” who have very strong cores, much stronger than leaner guys who’s abs “ show” more.

What you said but the statement has always been understood to me and I'm sure most people that it's an expression of speech, sort of like "it ain't over until the fat lady sings."
