Put this poll together to get some feedback about the bicep fascination that exists here. Hope it provides some clues.
For the record, I don't do any bicep direct training work and have unimpressive spindly arms. The work that would be required to pump them up isn't worth it to me because it would come at the expense of not doing the training I'm doing. There's only so much time available to train so this is the decision I've made. Kudos to guys who sport big biceps and look good in a tight white t-shirt wearing a gold chain necklace around their neck.

Sounds like a very bias poll. I got size 13 shoes and pullups work my back, . Yeah at 5'11" a size 13, would definitely hurt in the wrong spot. It may not make sense to You but it makes some of my jobs easier. I do some movement on my jobs that are similar to bicep curls. Yeah I know bicep curls are not functional, blah, blah, blah. If You worked with me Your arms would be burning because pullups, at least for me, don't build arm endurance. Hope my clues help You. I don't think I ever asked Your fascination with burpees because I know You like them and feel they help Your cardio. But if You asked me about burpees I would have a different opinion for myself on why I hardly if ever do them. I might joke around a little but if that's what You like have at it.

No biceps fascination here, but I don't think there is anything wrong with guys wanting decent biceps, just as many women want longer legs, less wrinkles etc. It is perfectly normal to want to look better, in whichever way you prefer. My answer in the poll was to look good - IF I consistantly worked my biceps, that would be my motivation. I can do chin uos with decent weights around my waist and so on, so I personally don't need to work my biceps for strength, they are strong enough for my needs. Michael, Steve Justa certainly believed curls were a functional, power movement, and that was a man who knew about such things. I doubt I woukd touch a burpee myself, horrible exercise in my opinion but there you go, one man's curl is another man's burpee.

Michael....Michael....Michael..... Easy now, you'll make a certain vain Person cry while looking at himself in the mirror And we all know that he wouldn't survive a day of physical work....if he lasted as long as lunchtime, he wouldn't come back afterwards His little linguine arms couldn't handle it

I don't do manual labor, I pay to have a professional do it for me. I can afford it. I worked hard, lived below my means and at this chapter of my life, buy the necessities I want to live a pampered and pleasant life. Others live their lives doing it their way and good for them.
On the rare occasions I've done manual labor, I had no problem because I worked at a safe and tolerable pace. I'm not as stupid as I look; others may be.

And Michael.....what does it matter if you can go out and do a day of heavy physical work After all, it's nowhere near as difficult as setting up your cell phone to record yourself breaking the world's burpees record and impressing the entire video watching world ! And don't forget that some people make money so that they can pay STIFFS to do their manual labor Oh.....you do manual labor, right Michael ? Obviously this individual didn't mean you ! Now....get up to the park and get busy on those burpees.....slacker !

Honestly, I'm not upset with the question You ask Pierini or with You. I just think Your poll answers are kind of a way to ridicule people that train a certain way. People can exercise anyway they want as far as I'm concern. Very rarely do You find people who exercise the same way and that's ok with me. Arms are definitely not the only way I exercise. I'm with Stuke, it's not a fascination but I don't think there is anything wrong with it either. I don't get why stuff like someone talking about arm training bothers someone so much.
Since You like burpees why don't You start a thread to tell me how they would benefit me, how I would use them in my every day life, why I should do them even if something hurts, etc... Just examples and not to mock You. Instead of mocking what someone does I'd rather understand the why. There is no reason to touch on the manual labor thing with You because it's a waste of time, seems like You have no respect for people like me. That's ok.

Thanks for letting me know but if you were upset with me that would be OK too. Life is too short to let someone occupy my brain rent free like one elderly man here does with me. Problem is it's a small brain and I occupy it in cramped quarters. Go ahead and start the burpees poll if you'd like and I promise I'll give you an honest answer. I do have a fascination with burpees just like how some people have a fascination with bicep training or the Bullworker. It's all good and it's best here when we can all express ourselves our way rather than some woke way. Reread Bruce's forum rules.

Yeah I know it's apparent that You don't care much about certain kind of people but that's Your business. I won't be doing a poll. Since I'm quarantining I'll post something, maybe more than one post, tomorrow.

... Steve Justa certainly believed curls were a functional, power movement, and that was a man who knew about such things. I certainly do as well. It's common knowledge to anyone who's actually done hard physical labor type of jobs that bicep strength comes into play in many different types of lifts and carries. As a matter of fact it usually seems to be the misguided people that neglect training their biceps who are the ones that end up suffering an unfortunate biceps tear the first time they have to actually do some awkward 'real world' heavy lifting...tsk tsk, should have done your homework instead of trying to impress the 'cool kids'
