Replying to the original post, there are many other better forums to discuss fitness and give you fitness, health and wellness golden nuggets for your own self-improvement. Hope you discover them. Tell us, don't be shy. The most I've benefited from an internet fitness discussion forum is when there was a thriving members workout section. The old Bronze Bow forum had an excellent one with excellent being measured by the number of active members sharing their workouts. I actually learned from their sharings and it was fun to cheer them on in their pursuits. There was, for me, a camaraderie among us that I miss today. I sort of have this on YouTube with a group of fitness characters, burpees oriented, who share with workouts and encourage each other. Umpteen years ago, there was a thriving forum named DiscussFitness.com and I was both an administrator and moderator there for many years. It had the best member workout section I've every participated in. We all pushed and encouraged each other to reach for new heights in our fitness pursuits. It was fun. I learned a lot and took my fitness to the next level. This forum no longer exists. Ross Enamait had a great and very active member workout section on his forum but it no longer exits. There's a fairly active burpees group on Facebook that is fun to view. I'm not a member because I think many there take their burpees pursuits to extreme volume levels that I have no interest in at this older turd fitness dude chapter of my life. But it is fun to occasionally stop by and check out the action. I'm sure there are many others but none that I actively participate in other that with my burpees fitness brothers and sisters at YouTube.

I'm interested in and am curious as to how those on this board take up certain exercise routines such as burpees, kettlebells, isometrics, bullworkers, or heavy weights are getting along in their training. Same with diet. Their descriptions give me a feedback that make me think about taking up such things. Just because I don't follow them all does not mean I don't think it works, it's just not for me.
As well, some participate (share) more than others for their own reasons, which should be ok. We all lead different lives with different demands from work and family, etc. This board is a good place for all to gather.
If someone is looking to convert people to their program, this may not be the best place for that.

I've always said the fitness program has got to match the personality so that's why some of us do this while others do that. I don't evangelize what I do but share for anyone who might be interested in my training details. Honestly, this is probably the best place only to get a daily laugh and to punk others and be punked back. American manhood at its best.

Fitness forums are a dying breed. Probably not a good idea to get your fitness information from a forum. A lot of know it alls that pretty much know nothing. There are a rare few on some forums that know stuff. But if you are just looking for the next big thing or winging it then forums are your place.

I've had more success with this stuff by keeping things as simple as possible than at least 95% of the 'experts' and 'you-tubers' out there that tend to over complicate the shit out of everything.

The best advice that I'd give to my younger self would be to stay the hell away from the 'heavy weights'... They'll hurt you over the long haul. Try everything else and stick with what you have the most fun with.

Over the years, I’ve gleaned lots of useful information from my fellow Caneguru brothers on this forum.
Amidst the off topic posts, the jokes, and the occasional members squabbling, there is good info to be had.
What each person does with the information, is up to them.

So if I wanted to do a push-pull-leg split with reps and sets what would you guys tell me? I seen most guys here don't have routines. I like routines because I have some way to measure my progress. I never registered here because I think I would get criticized for those reasons.

We need experts like you with the world renowned and recognized knowledge, experience and success to give us this helpful direction, gleaned from your many years of hanging out at the grocery magazine rack while mom shops.

Did You do low reps or would You say You tried to use as heavy as possible on all rep ranges? I hope that question sounds right.

I never registered here because I think I would get criticized for those reasons. There are plenty of posts by guys doing routines, but you'd need to register in order to use the search function. lardy is rather new here and also was hesitant to join. Ask him if he was criticized over what he wanted to do or about questions he asked. I'm not going to tell you anything about push-pull-leg split routines because I don't do that (as far as I know - I don't really think in those categorical terms while exercising), but I'm not going to criticize anyone if that's what they want to do. Jason Gallant has a lot of good info, IMO, but I think he does splits and routines. That doesn't mean I can't learn something from him. Although, if some old guy came on here who wanted to begin exercising by doing some type of pushup exercise routine of 10 pushups, increasing the number by 1 each day for 6 months until he's doing 200 per day, I'd likely tell him he's headed for pain and disappointment. Is that criticism?

Try everything else and stick with what you have the most fun with. Hey Magnus question about the heavy weights. Did You do low reps or would You say You tried to use as heavy as possible on all rep ranges? I hope that question sounds right. I weight trained doing bodybuilding type routines for many years with what I would personally consider 'heavy weights'. I'll put it to you this way, in the anti-bodybuilder book 'Dinosaur Training' by Brooks Kubik, he went on and bragged about winning some silly "bench press contest" with an amount of weight that was....yawn....something that many of us common neighborhood 'bodybuilders' could rep out with during our normal sets. We really didn't didn't know we were doing anything special at the time, because had we known I guarantee there were a few of us who would have went down to those 'contests' and mopped the floor with those "champs". ...but yeah, in hindsight the old timers were smarter about the way they trained by including things like gymnastics, calisthenics, Indian Clubs, etc. that's the way to go if you plan on lifting for the long term. And even then I'd be cautious because there WILL come a time that the piper will need to get paid...
