Hi everyone,
Had my results through today, seems I've had covid for a week and apparently most in my street have it (all of our kids play on their bikes/football etc together), I'm absolutely convinced it's blown out of proportion in the media, I'm asthmatic and quite overweight yet I feel fine? nobody in the street is really struggling either apart from your typical attention seeking hypochondriacs, I have been feeling off for a few days and i'm very blocked up in the sinuses but it's no different to a cold, bones hurt a little but again nothing unbearable, I wont do anything strenuous for a couple of weeks but it's not that bad?
Anyone else had it, what was your experience?

Yes, I had it about a year ago. I am relatively healthy, no issues, not overweight, etc. It kicked my ass. I had the flu only once in my life a few years ago and that wiped me out for a week, this wiped me out a solid 3 weeks, with loss of taste for another month. My brother had it a couple weeks before me and was hospitalized for dehydration. Knowing that, I made sure I pounded liquids while I had it. On the morning of Day 3 I felt like I was getting better, but by end of that day it was worse than ever. I ran a fever off and on until Day 10. Lost 12 lbs. Brother had about the same experience. My 75 yr old mother, who has all the "co-morbidities" had a very mild course of it, like a minor cold. My kids also had it very mild. My whole dept at work got it the same time, I was the only one hit like that, everyone else had minor to no symptoms. Those with Type O blood seemed to have the mildest symptoms.

Sorry to hear you guys had/have this, but thanks for sharing your experience.
My uncle, 80, allegedly passed from it last year. He had a bout 15 pounds to lose, but otherwise was always healthy although not a workout guy. Heard he waited too long for medical attention as he thought it would pass like a cold, but it only got worse until he could not breathe and was hospitalized.
His son got it 3 months later, age 50, and is in good lean shape, jogs and does yoga stuff. He was hospitalized and needed some oxygen and got meds and released after about a week. He had, and still has, pains in his legs. It was very bad, he slept a lot and he could not work (owns his own restaurant). He still takes some meds and has pains in 1 leg.
A 68 year old cousin with heart issues (had heart attack when 27 years old and bypass before 30) and on many meds and had many operations related to heart (has a pacemaker) got it after my uncle had it. His case was mild, just some fever for 3-4 days. He gave it to his wife and kid who still lives with him and they had moderate time of it like a flu/bad cold.
Staying well hydrated seems to be key as I heard of a few that they got COVID, but drank a lot and only had a lot of diarrhea and were very tired.
I don't know any of their blood types.
Get well soon Lardy!

Also, watch out for the latest COVID variant Omicron. Why are they using the Greek alphabet?

lardy, if you and those you know have no symptoms and since there is no test available to determine it, what makes you think that you're sick? Medicine 101: No symptoms, no sickness. Going to the hospital greatly increases the chances of injury and mortality since they believe in the covid virus cult and don't know what they're doing.

My mom (86) is in a nursing home and we got a call from her early this morn saying she did not feel well and they would not take her to see a doctor or to the hospital. I called to ask what was going on and they said she was doing well and eating breakfast by mid morn.
Just about an hour ago they called and said she tested positive for COVID and is currently asymptomatic. They said they will be giving her monoclonal antibodies in a drip tomorrow. Process is an infusion and lasts for 20 minutes.
How did this happen as our Governor mandated all nursing home/healthcare workers be vaxed/boosted? They could not answer.
