"It's called taking a different tack or stance. It still doesn't impeach the veracity of the premise I made."
Only by your own definition. I simply made a statement which the report backed up quite clearly. No convoluted reasoning that strays from that simple fact. No frills, no bells and whistles.
"So trite? The fact that China HAS & STILL ARE heavily interfering with American elections...."
I'm not talking about China. Nor Hillary Clinton or the media which always has their own spin on things. I made a statement pure and simple and the report backs it up.
That demonstrates for whatever reason that the US elections of 2016 were interfered with by Russia to an unknown (then) extent.
Btw China was found not to have directly interfered in the 2020 elections, according to the 2020 election report. Neither was Russia. What Russia was found to have done was using the media to incite criticisms of Biden etc.
" It was logically to Russia's advantage to support HLR's election not Trump's." Absolutely not. Trump was in Russia for a beauty contest in 2013 and Putin very rapidly would have had him worked out. So have others, as long as they're not Trump supporters. The following year, Russian interference stepped up especially when it was known that Trump was going for prez. Putin knew he was essentially clueless, so it is far more logical to assume that he wanted Trump in, to lead the US.
" Sure! All the legacy media are left-wing activists disguised as journalists. They love maxism & are Russian disinformation assets! That's a fact not a presumption."
The hell ! The report mentioned Russian interference of the US media. In short you don't know who was a genuine American source of an article, or Tweet or FB, or perhaps someone acting on Russia's behalf as a proxy. For example. General statements such as "All the legacy media are left-wing activists disguised as journalists." don't do anything to help with the investigation.
"Those in authority deliberately turned a blind eye collectively & knowingly when it conveniently suited their own purpose & when it no longer did so, they clutched their pearls & it then became an issue not beforehand. This is not conspiracy theories. It's public knowledge. They still haven't arrested people for serious crimes committed related to the 2016 elections that ordinary people would be chucked in jail for in a heartbeat."
We've dealt with that already, and the reasons for why "they" deliberately turned a blind eye. I would speculate that "they" still have some qualms about exposing Russian interference in the 2016 elections because the spectre of Trump still remains re the 2024 election. "They" also do not want American confidence in the electoral process to deteriorate any further after the damage Trump did long before the 2020 election with his "stolen election" rhetoric, mail-in votes, fraud etc. before, during, and after.
Most Trump supporters have no idea just how much damage Trump has done to American prestige around the world, culminating in the Jan 6 outrage. Further doubts cast via public display of 2016 election-tampering revelations re Russian interference would only do more damage to "democracy" and "freedom".
Like I've said before, Trump's teenage tantrums re "stolen election" and the Jan 6 riots would have had Putin and China-boy rubbing their hands with glee. The unclassified version that clearly finds Russian interference in the 2016 election (the redacted bits dealing with the various ways and techniques the intelligence services came by their conclusions/information) is quite clear, and presents concerns that the US public may lose confidence in the electoral system.
