State control over private industry. Gonna know every dime in your pocket. Think they'll stop at $600? They will NEVER stop. There is no line Evil won't cross.

Seriously, what will they accomplish by this? Create more bureaucracy and bureaucrats? On top of that it's a real pain for the banks to comply with such stupid requirements.
Nothing more than big government tyrants making life difficult.

What It says:
"Biden’s latest proposal would require banks to turn over to the Internal Revenue Service bank account information for all accounts holding more than $600."
What It Means:
Under this “Weaponization of the IRS" proposal, if you have more than $600 in any bank account, the IRS will now know exactly how much you have in those bank account(s), and will also be able to monitor all of your banking transactions related to those 'over $600' bank account(s).

This is pretty stupid and petty don't You think Mags? Most people that work for a living and have bills most likely has more than $600 in their account. So if You decide You want to take money out of Your account to buy something what are they going to do? Tell You You can't, audit You every year? I may take money out for Christmas or something and I don't keep track of that. How does that have to do with taxes? This is just plain retarded. Thanks Mags.

Read my lips: this will not become law.
There's already an existing requirement for banks to notify the IRS of cash deposits of $10,000 or more.
Early in my rat race career, I'd follow proposed tax legislation when it hit the streets. Then I learned that it isn't until both the House and Senate pass a bill and then it goes to conference for consolidation that you pay serious attention to the legislation. I still follow legislation but it's more relaxed nowadays.
There are other proposed provisions that deserve more widespread concern than this one.
Trust me, it won't pass in the current proposed form.

"There are other proposed provisions that deserve more widespread concern than this one", like I said I don't follow this stuff or know anything about the other stuff. When they get into Your personal business in Your bank account on money that I payed taxes on that's important to me. Honestly I could careless about having a lot of money, that's not my God. They look for everything they can it's a shame. Do You think they would come up to someone like myself and say, Mike all the free work You do for the elderly we are going to reward You for that? Hell no and not one rich person would do what I do.

And isn't it what you have in your bank, not a cash deposit ?

Do You think they would come up to someone like myself and say, Mike all the free work You do for the elderly we are going to reward You for that? Hell no and not one rich person would do what I do. Kind of 'funny' story about that... Years ago I was adding on central AC to an existing Heating system of an electrician that I used to work with, and I gave him a huge break on the price, basically zero profit for me. While I was installing the unit for the electrician I was informed that the old man who lived next door had a 20 plus year old central AC that wasn't working, so I went over, took a look, and repaired it for free. It was a minor repair, a loose low voltage connection at the outdoor unit, no big deal. While I was there the old man asked me how much for a new AC unit like I was installing for his neighbor, the electrician next door. He just wanted the outdoor unit replaced, not the A-Coil in the furnace. I noticed that the old mans house was in a state of overall disrepair and that he had electrical tape covering the holes in his slippers... I couldn't see myself making a profit off this poor old guy, so I quoted him an outdoor unit basically 'at cost'. He said he'll think about it and asked for my card. The next day he called me and said he wanted the unit replaced "asap", and he even tried to talk me down in price !... I ended up picking up a unit at the supply house that day, and I replaced it later on that same evening, figuring I'll give him a little time to pay me. When the job was done and the unit was operating, he told me that his "son is paying" and that I should stop by the sons house on my way home to get paid... When I looked up the sons address on my map (no GPS in those days, early '90s) I was starting to get annoyed when I saw what part of 'the island' his son lived. The RICH part. And then when I got to the address I was fuming when I saw the 2 plus MILLION DOLLAR MANSION that the son lived in... Yeah, the son came outside, counted out the cash he owed me for the unit and didn't even say thanks....

Yeah you get some of that in the course of a day, and it pisses me off when I've been used like that too, but I'm sure you don't let things like that change you from being a good man.
Those type of people pay inwardly for their behaviour because they are only happy for a short spell after the latest "con", but are always looking around unsatisfied, always wanting more.
Apart from the initial annoyance that soon wears off, I'm sure the bulk of the people you've helped are grateful. That's all I've ever asked, speaking for myself.
I bet the others here are the same too. Not Bruv though.............
