One thing that you can always expect out of a comic book or graphic novel is the artwork. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's pretty damn awful but it has its moments.
I do like comics and have a few that are favorites but the most out there type of comic I've ever read was a series about a young man named Luther Strode. Most of this series is based on revenge, a journey to take down a big baddie and gaining abilities that were meant for something else. The funny thing is, the legendary Dynamic Tension course is a cornerstone in this story arc as it plays out as a course that this kid finds in the back of his own comic and orders it. Skinny blonde teenager who wants to kick the bully's ass at school. Orders the course "The Hercules Method" and starts training. There's an evil side to this course that is actually the manual for training murderous assassins. This series is about as gory as you can get and makes a horror movie look like a Disney flick. Three books in total. Physical Culture has been in comics before as some of you might have seen if you ever read a comic back in the day but this is pretty cool that it takes a real life course and puts it into a bloody fictional storyline that brings that "What If?" moment. Some might see this as dumb or something that sounds nerdy or both but as a Physical Culture fanatic, this was a fun read and has a pretty good ending by the third book. The Strange Talent Of Luther Strode The Legend Of Luther Strode

In the Doc Savage paperback novel series, he was also supposed to be a student of dynamic tension exercises. I remember seeing them on the bookshelves long ago but never read any. There are more than a few articles about it on the internet which I have seen though.

This might sound funny but I never read a comic book. As a kid we didn't have money. And if I found money or an uncle happen to give me a quarter I would buy baseball cards. They had this hard as heck gum in it, . I actually find what You wrote interesting. Reading stuff is a good thing. , I wish I had the patience to read books or comics. If I had money back than I probably would have gotten into comics like this because of the physical culture component. After what I heard about some other types of comics from nowadays, , not sure I'd want to read them. Stay away from the Batman and Robin ones, .

In one of the articles attached to one of the internet pieces about Doc Savage and the things he practiced to develop his body and mind was a video of the actual contract signing by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who was supposed to play Doc Savage in an upcoming movie. To my knowledge the movie was never made yet and I read about this at least 3 years ago. If they actually do put anything into the movie about dynamic tension I thought it would be fitting that another person who developed his body with weights would be touting dynamic tension as an exercise.

There was concept art of Johnson being the character too somewhere. I remember that and this around the time or just before he signed on to be Black Adam in the upcoming film of the same name set in the DCEU continuation of the Justice League films. The film was dropped because also the Black Adam role was a much bigger opportunity than Doc would be. If anything, if the movie was gonna come back into getting a script and going into production with Johnson, his company was going to make it.

When I saw the title of this thread I was wondering if the "murderous cult" was Transformetrics.

When did he ever find time for his adventures? Early riser maybe? So lemme get this straight...Doc Savage is out there somewhere on one of his adventures. A jungle, maybe. The fair maiden in distress has been kidnapped by Cannibals. He has precious little time to save her. But wait! He first has to do his 2 hours of DT. Oh, that's right. He's an early riser.

www.writeups.org/doc-savage-pulps-profile/"Doc was raised from the cradle to be a new type of man. He received physical training since the age of 14 months. Since that time he has always maintained a daily regimen of exercise. Only rarely has he missed a day.vThis is the secret of his incredible abilities and musculature. In all, the routine takes about two hours."

Personally, I've always admired Mighty Mouse. Not only is he super strong, but he can fly!

Personally, I've always admired Mighty Mouse. Not only is he super strong, but he can fly! HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!! No problem with that, I'm more of a Faster than a speeding bullet..more powerful than a locomotive...able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and the way people look up and say "look up at the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane" kind of guy. Heard he was strong and could fly too.
