I don't know about others here, but exercising is very meditatively therapeutic for me.

I don't know about others here, but exercising is very meditatively therapeutic for me. I agree that working out puts me into a meditative state of mind. The program I posted, if I understand correctly, has the listener run through a workout while in hypnotic trance, though I do not think it is intended for listening while exercising.

I always preferred working out alone and made my best progress doing so. It helped keep me in tune with MY body. Only rarely have I listened to music working out as it became a disaster trying to always rewind or change to a better song to psych me up. Getting in touch with my inner self to focus (like Maxick discussed - is this hypnotic?) on the muscle is most important in the workout while also focusing on my breathing.
In 1986 I ordered the late sports hypnotherapist Peter Siegel's Peak Performance. It wasn't what I thought. It was a packet of typed info and cassette tapes. I still have it somewhere.

The success of self-hypnosis was readily demonstrated on TFM, and was so powerful that it affected others nearby when Andy performed his 62 3" ROM herky jerkies on youtube. The hypnotic trance induced others to comment how great were Andy's 100 perfect pushups, his V-shaped torso and neck a pillar of strength etc despite Gordo carefully maintaining a figure at least 50lbs overweight.
JP himself took self-hypnosis to great heights with announced unproven superior accomplishments that were immediately taken as genuine by TFM members who themselves provided clinical proof of being under hypnotic trance. One by one as they were either abruptly snapped out of their hypnotic state by sudden banishment, or gradual dawning of reality (a slow process for some), they took their leave quietly, or in one case publicly lambasting JP for daring to control people by his superior nerve force, a skill taught by Gordo and covertly passed onto the world's Isometric King after psychological profiling.
Obviously JP was not like any other 64 year old. He said so himself. And he was right. Everybody else was normal.
Seriously, chi kung (for one) is a method of exercise that depends on a "chi kung state of mind" for its effectiveness, with even physically relaxed drills gaining quite a lot of power through the Mind First protocol. Said exercises are nothing more than light calisthenics without self-hypnosis, albeit beneficial up to a point, but with the necessary mental application can become surprisingly powerful.
It's long been said that with even "conventional" exercise, concentration and visualization are necessary to gain the best results.
In the short time I was a gym rat, I saw trainers who had begun their training in a semi-frantic state of mind, desperate to get their "big chest for summer" attitude, later to become quieter and obviously in a meditative state as they performed their reps.
Even experienced trainers were more relaxed and cheerful after a sensible workout. It's a good scene.

John Peterson is about as fringe and insignificant a character as you will find in the fitness world. I don't think he gets any thought or attention in any other place than here.

I listened to about 10 minutes of the Mental Power Program. It's too dramatic for me. Hypnosis is all around us. When people engage in mutually enjoyable conversation, they are sharing the same trance.

Were there hypnotic inductions on the tapes? I believe so. They began with getting you to relax and let go with low sounds of someone working out in the background, grunting and another yelling encouragement and that faded out by the end of the first part. At that point, he instructs you to take mental command of your workout. I think he instructs you to have a keyword that you use to focus on in this trancelike state and then use that when in the gym to workout to unlock the power. I have to get it out, and see if they still work (I think there were two cassette tapes).

He was a bit of an egghead though.I was kinda tempted once, but in older age I questioned myself and it all boiled down to this - how hard does anyone really need to train - certainly no need for the CNS to be fried. So whilexmy old mate scrambled for his macho brutality training badge, old carlson kept it raw and simple, no bonkers intensifiers for me.

The initial post is about a set of mp3 recordings that lead you to carry out specific gym exercises for specific parts of the body, with a different part targeted each day of the week.
The hypnotist claims this by itself will build muscle.
