I've never quite understood what makes Pilates unique over many other common strength training principles, but I know it is popular. Here are some of it's principles applied with a Bullworker.

Interesting video.
Has anyone looked at the pricing of Bullworkers recently? I purchased my Classic and Steelbow a number of years ago at what I though were a fair prices. Now that John Hughes' son has taken over the prices have more than doubled. I'd never buy one at today's prices. Seems like hype, glitz and glamour make for a higher price.

Even many of the used ones on eBay are pricey, like $100.00 with shipping and tax. For a 50-60 year old piece of equipment that is a lot, especially when you don't really know how much it was used. The ones I have purchased (one brown handled BW3 and three X5's) though have maintained resistance which is a tribute to the quality. I just put in a bid of $85 (plus $20 shipping) for a Classic with 4 springs on eBay, but know someone will outbid me.

Bullworker USA is currently marketing a Bow Basic 36" model on sale right now from 99.95 down to 69.95. It has a bit more plastic used in construction, and a 75 lb non interchangeable spring. It uses a 3 piece design similar to the Bully Xtreme. www.bullworker.com/product/bow-basic-36-bullworker/I'm sure production costs have risen and they probably faced a lack of supply at the beginning of the pandemic as well as an increase in demand from people wanting home equipment for the quarantine. That will also drive prices up on the older vintage models.

The price of all exercise equipment has increased a lot. Old, single spring bullworkers were about $15-$20 early last year but are now $80-$120 on ebay. Adjustable dumbbell sets have more than doubled in price here. I'm seeing rusty 20 kgs adjustable dumbbells sets on Facebook marketplace for double the price or more of what a new set cost early last year.

If you look at the one's for sale on eBay it seems like the brown handled Bullworker's spring gets 'sprung' for some reason. Then the idiots that don't know what they're looking at put them up for sale "in excellent condition"... Is anyone really that clueless that they would buy them broken like this ?

...and BTW, for every greedy clueless moron selling broken equipment for top dollar on eBay there are plenty more non-greedy and reputable sellers that you can purchase from, it just takes patience to find a good honest deal.
I recently purchased a 'Made In England' X5 in excellent unused condition along with the original box and wall chart for $42 plus a minor shipping charge. I've owned the new 'Classic' (and gave it away) and the X5 is superior to it, there's no doubt about it. So anyone looking to purchase a Bullworker needs to patiently check eBay because there's absolutely zero reason to buy a new inferior 'Classic' for top dollar...

***Any of the 'old timers' on here remember that lively 'discussion' that I had with the owner of 'Bullworker' before Shen deleted the entire sub-forum ?.... LOLOLOLOL

View AttachmentI think the problem with that one is that the spring stop inside has broken which is allowing the spring too far into the smaller diameter tube.

I don't remember what I paid for the two I have, one green handled one with steel cables covered by clear tubing that is a gennie and another that has black handles with some kind of webbing for the cables. I think both of them were less than $10 at a Goodwill.

I have to laugh at the busted ones too! What a joke. I check eBay and Mercari, but have only purchased from eBay so far. Tried to purchase an XO from a bogus company that stole my card info and had to spend time making calls. Don't know if the folks selling don't know what they are selling, or if they are trying to trick the unknowing public. Some advertise it as a BW but it's really a Macho Power or 7x. Only looking for a new Classic for the stronger springs, but won't pay over $110 total for it. If I get an Amazon Credit Card I can get $50 off which would get a brand new one down to $150 and free shipping......BUT it's gotta have a good bag....it's really all about the bag.. !

It included a bag, pair of workout gloves, and an adjustable door pullup bar. I ordered and Delta hit and after 3 months asked to cancel my order and they did. Reviews said it was strong resistance. My BW 3 brownie pushes about 88 lbs down on the bathroom scale, about same as my 7x which only cost about $12.00.

If anyone is interested in a Bullworker Pro Model, this may be worth watching to see if not too many people take notice. www.ebay.com/itm/324822272634I have one and it is a good compromise between the Classic and the Steel Bow. Bullworker USA had supposed production problems with them that made them refund many purchases on the waiting list. I often wondered if they figured out the compromise weight would make people NOT want to purchase both a Steel Bow and a Classic together. I think I'll grab mine right now for a quick session.
