I wonder how old he was there. I thought he was 5'10"? Maybe he was still young enough to grow in this picture? A good combination of exercise styles. Anyone who has exercised has tried weights, nothing wrong with it.

For some reason, I thought he was over 6', but I've never studied him beyond the posts on the exercise forums.

Since age 10 I was into his look from the comic book ads. I read a piece of when Atlas won one of his physique titles and it said he was something like 5'10" 1/4 and 173 lbs. Older adverts claimed he had 16.5" arms, then later it was changed to 17". It's obvious he bulked up through the years. Either way, I saw him as an inspiration and thought he looked great - even today.
I was disappointed with his course because it was much more than the advertised "15 minutes/day" (at one point it says to do 1.5 hours a day!) and that the perpetual lesson was almost ALL calisthenics.

Maybe late teens early 20s? Those measurements are smaller than what was reported when he was older. Whatever his height JP is taller.

In your Charles Atlas days, did you kick chairs in your bedroom and go around swatting beach-bullies, then taking your girl back ? He did look great. Even today his advert photos look better than the current bloated monsters. He looked well, too.

I didn't hit puberty until 16 (late bloomer) and the girls were not interested in me yet. I found the course to be well rounded and complete by offering nutrition and the aspects of how to control your feelings/emotions to lead a better and more productive life. It did help this young lad who was entering his teen years and the emotional changes/turmoil going on inside that comes with adolescence. I almost broke my neck in the bathtub after putting oil oil into my hair when showering. This is my favorite pic......

Yep, that was my goal to look like, when I was 13. Of course, I was well outclassed by a guy from Minneapolis who ended up slightly taller than I was then.

, that's pretty weird. No blue speedos? It's the Atlas method- no equipment necessary.
