First time ever, took my 24kg kettlebell to the nearby park. Been wanting to get a good single arm farmers carry effort in, and walking up and down the street doesn’t cut it.  About 40 yards. Did carries for 20 minutes. Alternating hands. Maybe 15-30 seconds of rest between rounds. By the last rounds both grips were at near failure. Could not carry past end point. Finished it off with some crisp, strict form swings. A very enjoyable workout. I’m keeping the KB in the back of the Outback for now, and plan to do this 3 x weekly. |

Thanks for sharing MBS.
I love my parks. I have three that I go to in my small town, two that I go to more often. One is for KB, burpees and slam ball work while the other is for pull-ups.
I've been going early in the morning because of heat but you got to know the lawn watering schedule.
I generally have the parks to myself and that's how I like it
Would be interested in a postscript of whether that workout gave you traps DOMS.
Next challenge would be rack carriers and then waiters carries but those come later and are tough with a 24kg.
I have a couple YouTube videos of KB carries workouts if you're looking for ideas.

By doing micro workouts throughout the day, i aggressively avoid DOMS

The first time I did single-arm waiter's carries with my 24kg KB, my obliques got bitch slapped big time.

Maybe this was why: View AttachmentSuitcase carries always feel good on my back. I did the same thing after I did my regular training session. For me I never feel carries in my abs or obliques. But that could be because on my jobs I'm always doing different carries. So I'm sure my body has adapted to them. I sometimes feel them in my traps but that's probably because I don't have traps,  . |

Maybe this was why: View AttachmentWow, you got me beat in temperature high department today and even higher than Phoenix. We're forecast a "cool" 108F degrees today. Had a Sacramento buddy visit me yesterday enroute to Vegas and then Death Valley which has a forecast high today of 124F degrees! Good job today, back to back is hard. A couple more times out and you'll be ready for single-arm rack carries but I'm sure you'll be looking at shorter distances per round. Nice to try new stuff. I did 300 KB swings with a 24kg KB early this morning in 11:13 during a cool 82F degrees. Keep marching forward! |

Where I'm at it's 93 degrees but says it feels like 106. There's been a heat advisory the past two days here. When You work in this stuff You're soak and wet.
