An old military vet asked, "What two things fall from the sky?" ANSWER: "Manna from Heaven (The Bible describes it as being “like coriander seed,” and “white, and its taste was like wafers with honey.”) and the Airborne Rangers!".
Semper fidelis!

You may be a bit confused brothersteve. The U.S. Army motto is This We'll Defend. The United States Marine Corps motto is Semper Fidelis. However to honor the U.S. Army birthday I offer this:

"The amazing thing about the American Empire is it is invisible to so many who serve it." That last sentence so true.
IMO, America has to let countries do for themselves and fight for their own freedoms. Instead, we get involved and it's our family and friends that are killed to protect others. I especially get upset when I hear people say 'wee need a war to get the economy going.'

This ancient memory came to my head when thinking about Army basic training marching, the Drill Sergeant and we would like while marching, ""GI beans and GI gravy, gee I wish I'd joined the Navy; sound out, one two, sound out, three four, . . . ."
I've been showing my two oldest grandsons (ages 6 and 5) how to salute and march. For some reason, they like it.
