The World Judo Championships for 2021 are in progress. Today was day 4. I just finished viewing the medal matches. They're all tough hombres and have killer grips. If you're interested, each day's highlights are uploaded to YouTube. Here's a link to today - you can fast forward and view the medal matches if interested. The gold medal match begins at about 1:22.48

I personally prefer stuff like this and a good boxing match over the UFC crap any day of the week...

I did judo for a while about 30 years ago -- got a lot of injuries including broken toes, a wrenched knee and a correct landing after a throw but landed on my right shoulder where the noise made was exactly the same thing you'd hear if you took a clear plastic bag of chips and crunched it, resulting in me not being able to move my right arm in any more then 6 inches in any direction. I gave it up after a while because I was spending more time recovering from injuries to the point where I was spending more time on the sidelines rather than participating.

Viewed more World Judo Championships today, focusing on the medal matches. Today it was the men's 90kg competition. Here's a link of the gold medal match won by Portugal's Jorge Fonseca. I selected this video to start at 1:28 which is a few seconds before his ippon over his opponent. Admire how he changed directions at lightning speed in creating his winning throw. That's fast twitch muscles and technical superiority on display at it's finest. He's an amazing athlete and won all his matches by ippon. You can view the entire video which isn't that long.
