Back in the day pushups and pullups were my go to favorite exercises. I considered them to be the core of upper body building and then everything else was "in addition to". I'd do wide grip pullups, the first rep I pulled myself up until the bar touched the back of my neck, and then for the second rep I would lean back and pull myself up until the bar touched my chest, and then I'd alternate the two for the rest of the reps. At my peak I was doing 16 reps. And then sometime in my late 40's, the pullups started hurting my elbows.

At my peak I was doing 16 reps. And then sometime in my late 40's, the pullups started hurting my elbows. I bought the AB-Originals marketed by stuntman Brad Harris years ago. They are arm slings with attached D-rings. I repurposed them for pullups when my elbows started bothering me. I also use Forearm Forklifts with a door anchor & lift myself off the deck with or without my feet touching. Both work just as well as pullups for dynamic movement. Isometric pullups is a different effect.

I know some guys didn't like Vince or this guy but I thought someone might like the exercise. I tried it with Bruce's bands. It felt really good and I like it.

I have an extra long stick I place behind my upper back & pull at the ends towards my center in the stretched position. Feels great & has complimented my shoulder rehab progression.

So, the stick is over the elbows? Inside of elbows. U place the stick behind your back & extend your reach as much as possible but leave at least a slight bend in the elbows. The elbow crook is so u can pull your arms toward the center of your spine. It's akin to a partial lat pull because u are not getting the full stretch as u would with a dead hang. I can't raise my elbows above my shoulders since my WWF match last August. So, this is one of my workarounds to stretch & strengthen all the rear insertions. Hits the front delts too this way.

I often use Bruce's stuff, myself. That surprises me, I thought you two were on the outs.
Hey, did you discontinue the Sierra Belt?

Hey, did you discontinue the Sierra Belt? I did. You could easily make something that functions just as well. Tie a loop onto each end of a rope and suspend it over your door anchor. You could also tie multiple loops along the length of the rope for various holds. This would cost very little and be very easy to do.

Parachute cord is good for that. It's very cheap and available from the hardware store.

I've never once used it for suspension work I love the loops. I put it under a board ala X3 platform type board and then use a piece of pipe through the loops. Makes for a very functional iso system. The loops are the best part. I've got one of the early grey ones that's hand numbered.
