Good stuff. I did a lot of my early Heavyhands training on a treadmill at 4.0 mph. Thanks for sharing.

The way I describe how I perform my work in the video description is the way I am doing it now. I will mix it up sometimes. I think the Cross Country Skiing movement gives me much better bang for the busk vs the pump and walk.
By far the best two special exercises are the overhead pressing and the squat high pull. If you did on those two you would probably get in shape much faster as they get into your soul on the hurry up.

I do my favorite which is a 7-movement medley using a pair of 5-lbs. dumbbells. I do each movement for one minute so one round of the medley takes 7 minutes. By far, the 6th and 7th movements in the medley sequence are the most challenging, particularly during the latter rounds. I target 60 pumps per minute pace.
Earlier this week, I did a 30-minutes continuous workout completing 4 rounds then spent the last two minutes completing a final round changing movements every 15 seconds. I hadn’t done this workout in over a year so had DOMS beginning the next morning lasting for a couple days. It’s a shoulder blaster.
I’ve shared it before but here it is again.

JRMP, I like the Cross Country Skiing movement. Question for You guys. I have tried this before but I will admit at this point in time I couldn't be a purest. I just like KBs and bands too much. But I've always liked the concept. For the guys that don't only do HH and do strength training also. How do You combine the two? I know the DBs are light but the presses and the like may tire out the endurance muscles. Ok more than just one question, . So would just the arm pumping, cross country, and anything that doesn't work muscles directly be better for aerobic? Your heart rate doesn't have to be pounding for this to be beneficial right?

I'm not sure how to answer your question Michael. I'm not sure what you mean by purist either, have you seen my log? I don't just do HH's, its a part of what I do. I did two 45 minute sessions this week, fulfilling my weekly requirements. for aerobic work. Anything else is just bonus for me.
Yeah, your muscle can get a little tired, but its a non issue really for me.

you have confused the heck out of me Michael. My bad. I have seen what You do and appreciate the videos you post. I'm good with what you wrote. I've always just been curious with HH but like other stuff more. ahh...ok. good to go. Yeah, stick with what you like, thats what I do and what I like changes here and there. Like now, I'm going to be creeping towards using a lot more bands, straps and iso's in my heavy training. I ordered a new rack from Rogue, the RML-3 that will give me the pin setting and band pegs to work with. With my old rack I can just never get anything setup that is consistent.
For aerobic work, I've just found that the way I do heavy hands works just about as good as anything I've found to reduce weight and get in shape. Plus, the way i do it it seems to make the 45 minutes sail by, because I'm always changing and watching the timer for the change points. So much better that doing just one method and watching that timer drag on and on.

JRMP it's a good form of exercise, especially aerobic-wise. I didn't feel like I could get my heart rate up to much until I used a weighted vest in conjunction with the 5lb DBs. Fred Hutch use to talk about Heavy hands being one of his go-to forms of exercise when he wanted to reduce weight. Are You trying to lose weight?

I found a pair of 1# Heavy Hands at the thrift store for $6. Seems like a good price compared to ebay, but they're 'made in China'.
