John, is this what You do for exercise? What have been Your results? Hi Michael, Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, HH’ing, using Extendor (also known as: Panareobic Barbell) and Pan-X are my exercise modalities of choice. I have been doing these or “4 limb type” exercises exclusively for the last 30+ years. When I was younger, I did the classic weightlifting, body building moves. (read heavy/heavier weights) My results: I have maintain my muscle mass, have a HR in 50’s, lower body fat, (in that still have “visible” , if the light is right: , six pack) , basically no joint pain and energy akin to the Energizer Bunny. I have HH grips/Extendors (with prototype connecters) as well as “regular” dumbbells ranging from 1# to 20# and DIY Extendors I made with 12 inch and 36 inch ¾ inch pipe that I use for my Panaerobic sessions. I also have a Pan-X I made with 1 and ½ inch PVC pipe (swinging arms and all) until I was honored to receive a true prototype Pan-X. My sessions are mixed: sometimes just HH, sometimes HH/Extendor, HH/Pan-X, or just Pan-X. I also have a “Bulgarian” bag I made from a car inner tube I play around with (40#) I also made a “mace” with 36 inch ¾ pipe and 15# bowling ball I mess with from time to time! My sessions go from 20 – 30 minutes 3 x per week. john Thanks for the response and putting these videos up. I always get you confused with another guy that use to post on another forum. I appreciate seeing the videos of this style of training even though I don't do it. Since I'm mostly interested in cardiovascular and muscle endurance this is interesting.

Hello John..thank you for posting all this wonderful and insightful material..It's been very inspiring and exciting to watch..I'm thankfull for what we do have..it's cool watching the improvisions and personal workouts..I get sold on long strength more and more..and you can kinda conceptualize and reengineer the movements for each protocol if you grasp the concept...you can learn 10,000 things from one thing..keep them coming! I'm loving it more than you know..also I'm still pouring over the past correspondences you sent me as well..priceless Hi Zen, Just so you know, I am not John McKean, I am a different John! I know Prackjohn (John McKean) posted about his Iso-book and he sent some stuff to you as you posted your email for him. I don't think he has access to these videos. I am trying to contact him to put him in touch with Len's daughter so he can publish his Iso-Book if he is willing! (I certainly hope he will!) I have a Iso-manual( not as long as the one John seems to have though) and several other manuals base on Panaerobics, Shadow-Boxing, Panaerobic Barbell (aka Extendors) as stated I will try to get out eventually. Also still have more videos to upload

That was Len's vision that you made Panaerobics, "your own" and what would keep it from becoming "boring" as you have freedom of movement any way you desired and by making minor "adjustments" you could be exercising muscles, etc. in a different way from multiple angles all the while building muscle strength/Endurance! john or HH

I continue to believe that Dr Len's principles can be applied to a Suspension device . You can use all 4 limbs simultaneously in a variety of planes and ranges of motion . If your device has a rotational component( ie, the device's webbing is not set up with a fixed anchor point but rather the webbing moves freely over a high bar) then you can even perform shadow boxing .

Oh my I thought you were Mr.Mckean..I thought your work out was a lil different than John and I discussed..either way your contributions are greatly appreciated..I believe last I spoke to John..he had trouble getting in contact with Lens estate..and almost dare I say a indifference from his daughters...but I know he was and is open to making the Iso manual available..along with combat ISO manual...I don't think he has vids...hopefully he still lurks on this board..but I have his email if you wanted to reach out to him..if you don't already..you two are the main catalysts to this lost and obscure concept..which makes it more valued.
The 4 limb concept can be applied greatly to suspension training in a free flowing manner ..longstrength principles properly applied is limitless and endless...

Hi Zen, Yes, if you would/could message me John McKean's email that would be great. I also sent you an e-mail via e-mail address you posted in John's post. Therefore you can message me here on this board or shoot me an e-mail back from where I sent the e-mail to you! Thanks for your assistance! john

Try some Shadow Boxing with a strap around your torso that you grab with your hands. Your opposing arm moves invoke friction for resistance . In any case, it's yet another way to apply Dr Len's 4 limb strength endurance principles.

Hi Zen, Unfortunately it appears Mr. McKean doesn't want my assistance connecting with Dr. Schwartz daughter. I have reached out by someone here on the board and with what info you gave me and have received no reply, so we can't say we didn't try! Out of curiosity you stated: I believe last I spoke to John...he had trouble getting in contact with Lens estate...and almost dare I say a indifference from his daughters... Do you know if this was recently or a while back? As I talk to one of Len's daughters periodically and without issue, which is how I got permission to start posting the videos I have, matter of fact I told Len's daughter unless she gave me permission I would never post them. But Len's daughters and family all agreed it was okay post them, in other words I waited until such time I had their blessing as it were.. And I still have others to post. I have a a few manuals as well just have to get to posting them at some point. It would be nice to see what Mr. McKean has be published, but I guess it's just not to be. john

Hmm so did Mr. Mckean respond to your last email..or is it assumed he doesn't want to pursue any further correspondence? Also as I was reading over the emails we had..he said that he couldn't get in touch with schwartz's daughters..and they had supposedly submitted everything of Lens to the public.. "I'm not sure that getting hold of Schwartz' daughters would do anything -they did contribute all his writings to the huge Pittsburgh library system, but don't know that even they are aware of the Iso book. Can't seem to find them anyway. Mostly, I KNOW that very few people would take this material to heart and "develop the exercise with their own slant & approach",as Doc S intended." This is a snippet from our email correspondence...hmmm but he was defiantly on board with publishing or making the Iso book text available for free..he said he was only trying to figure out how..

No Mr. McKean has not responded to my e-mail(s), so I have done that dreaded deed of assuming! It has been since 2/16/21 so I would think if he was going to respond he would have done so! Contacting his daughter(s), who own the copy-right, would be beneficial in that he could release the info free knowing that no one would pursue him as they granted permission. I still have other videos and I also have manuals I am going to publish at some point, but have been editing the videos presently. The other issue, if you will, is there are no pictures for the manuals. Len told me he expected the Iso "book" to be about 50 pages long. But he had to get pictures taken before he could consider publishing. At that time he was working on Panaerobics one could do while lying in bed. I guess he could always contact me at some point, but who knows!

Hi John, yes usually he replys within a day and very long emails of great detail. I will try to contact him and see if I can get some permissions and if I can't reach him I'll make the next decision..he had some great insight on Dr. Schwartz that needs to be told, very inspirational..I wonder if the Iso manual or any book that's never officially published fair game to be dispersed? I hope He is well..but please continue fighting the good fight your doing great work..Ill be in touch soon
