I agree..voting and politics is like pissing in the wind..piss goin every which kinda way with its own agenda..and sometimes it splashes back at you..idk I know what you're saying, and I explained why on the "Debate" thread. I went for several elections without voting because it was a waste of time, the country had been overturned in favour of the Silver-Spooners, govt departments privatized and sold off, wages driven down by emphasis on facet working, apprenticeships all but abolished with the result that although there is plenty of skilled labour, the master-builders are all dying off without replacement. Because of NZ's small size, it was easier to see what was happening, and neither of the two major parties did anything about it except to encourage it. Therefore there was no real choice, the PTB would get their way no matter who came in, as they do in the US. I voted this time because of our PM who responded to three emergencies decisively and compassionately. And I remembered two of our family fallen in WW2 fighting a regime where nobody had any choice but to follow Hitler or receive a knock on the door at 3am.
