He just validated two things I do everyday: hanging from a pull-up bar, and sitting in the bottom of a squat position.
Thanks Michael for posting.

2 thumbs way way up. Even just maintaining the bottom position of a squat without holding a weight is worthwhile .

I have really of late got into Dan John’s stuff, I have been hanging for a while now, and it’s great for my shoulders, I have been doing the squat mobility exercise, and I like it to, I even lay on the floor and try different ways of getting up from the floor, which is something Dan is into also, I just bought his most recent book, and it’s great. He seems like a really great guy too! Thanks for posting Michael.

An isometric front squat using the Sierra Strap is likely a superior way to acquire more squat depth ; you can alter the resistance during the timed static contraction .

I use the goblet squat in my warm-up for my main sessions. I like to pry the hips with my elbow, something I learned from Pavel. Feels good. Gruntbrain, for myself, I never liked isometric squats. I get major cramps when I do them. I'm sure they are good but I hate cramps.

I got good results so far with self-resistance for legs. 4s on/off for 10 reps of 5 sets. 2m rest periods. I sit on a high chair, bend the knees 90 degrees, cross the ankles & engage a static hold. It peaks GH output. I only get cramps when I wear thong underwear. They make me throw hissy fits.
