I can't watch any more of those trippy videos, Mags. I think they may be infected with subliminal messages. While I watched the Iron Wax Studio, I felt an unfamiliar urge to wear a face mask. That album came out two years ago, and besides, the band is 'Soulive', and those guys are definitely not 'conformists' LOVE Soulive....Here, grab a nice little drink, and sit out on the porch while you enjoy this groovy tune from the same album

Mikey, just one more, please ?... I promise there's nothing to it Go into a room by yourself tonight, turn off the electric lights, fire up a black candle and look into a mirror. Have this song playing in the background as you chant the words below 666 times: O'watta---Goo---Siam

I know there are a lot of old turds here who spend great time thinking about the things they use to do. You're not wrong. In fact, the older I get, the better I used to be. Back to guitars, here's one from someone who shot through too early. A great influence on Jimi Hendrix and so many others ......

How about some 'Funky Retro Soul' straight outta 'Iron Wax Studio' ?... I detect some Doors sound in there. It's the organ(s), Ray Manzarek of The Doors played a VOX Continental and Neal Evans of Soulive uses a 'clavinet', but both are / were proficient in and use / used other types of organs as well (keyboard bass etc.).... I say just get a 'calliope' and be done with it ')

Totally inappropriate. My opinion, of course.

Macky, I could be wrong but thought I remember you once mentioned you were a musician ? I know you liked this bands other song 'Falsa Folha de Rosto', let me know what you think of the first song in this video... Love it. It's the sort of tune we'd play in the early hours at the muso's club I belonged back in late 60's early 70's. Back then we pretty much only had a fuzz box, wah-wah pedal, and what is being played here, a phase-changer, which gives the guitar that ethereal sound. It's a jam tune, something which takes a few chords and builds on those, but returning to the same repetitive chords so that you get an almost hypnotic feeling from the music, enhanced by the phase-changer. You can see the guy in the middle is right "in it", and it loses nothing by being played outside in the sunshine. I had a peek at the other tunes too, and they are quite original. I like the first one the best. Edit : I listened through the whole video later and realized that there's only the two tunes. A lot of experimenting in the second, which for a jam is always interesting. I wish I could hear the bass more on my laptop. They are not virtuosos but they play well, and they are obviously enjoying what they are doing. That's the main thing.

Always wondered when someone would use a bow on their guitar and here it is Here something quite different. From the Gipsy Kings. At quiet moments late at night, nearly in tears when I hear this, for some reason.....
