For Muscle building I thought this made a lot of sense.

Thanks for that Michael.
Maintaining constant tension in the ranges, movements and positions where I feel it the most, from the beginning of the exercise until I'm done, also seems to take less time to reach the level of fatigue that I want to feel.

I'd probably have to give You credit first from a recent post that You mentioned how You did the ab wheel. I can now do an exercise I enjoyed in the past because of not being hard-headed. The ab wheel would jack my lower back up when doing full range. So the past couple of weeks I've been doing partial range and iso holds, really like this. So Thank You, Mr. P. I do exercises in my range of motion that feels good to me.

Thanks, Michael, for posting. There are some interesting ideas for me in this video. It looks that this guy creates partial blood occlusion in the muscles due to constant tension. It additionally works for muscle growth. In high tension self resistance, blood occlusion also occurs if we keep constant high tension in muscles through the full ROM and set.

I'm not sure if thecmost anabolic exercise is actually even a thing. Still, I get what Jason Gallant is saying and he is very wise.

I'd be a liar if I said I didn't do full range on somethings, full range for me. It may not be full range to someone else. The KB clean & press is one I can think of. Exercises like dip, pullups, squats, and some arm exercises are not done full range according to the exercise police, . I don't do dead hang pullups or worry so much about chin over the bar, even though this comes naturally. I learned from Al Kavadlo, concentrate on pulling with the elbows. I want to feel the muscles working. I don't want elbow or shoulder problems, they get used at work every day. Dips I don't lockout at the top and don't worry about the stretch at the bottom. Again I like my shoulders and I want to feel the muscles working. For myself,(everyone is after different things) doing high reps full-range movements seemed to beat me up and made me weaker for my jobs. If someone can do that stuff and get the results they want I'm happy for them and will be cheering them on. Most guys that do or have done hard physical labor probably are in my boat. If I didn't do physical labor I'd be really good at exercise, .

I was surprised when I filmed myself doing pull-ups. I always feel as if my arms are completely straight in the bottom position but they still look slightly bent — kind of like in that JP video he did. It’s more comfortable though that way for me than when I go full dead hang.

Only joking, but I do know what you mean, I think the only way is to go to full relaxed position, but this is no good for the shoulders, so I do them much the same ad you I would think.

Some people have different opinions on the dead hang pullups. Some are lucky to get away with no elbow and shoulder problems from dead hang pullups. I'm happy for them but I was never lucky enough. I would say the reason for me is either because of the physical stress my body goes through at work and maybe my genetics. This puts a lot of stress on the tendons and ligaments. Some people's bodies can take more than others. I have no reason to be a macho man with this because I know the difference. I would say do whatever exercise the way it feels most comfortable instead of forcing something that feels uncomfortable. The only time I do dead hangs is when I just hang from a pullup bar. It's definitely a different feeling.

Me same. If I'm going to do a pull-up, I do it first, slow and pause on the way down to hold at approximately below halfway down and maybe work that area a bit, then down to hang, but not up again after I stretch it out.
After listening to Pete Wagner talk about hanging, it occurred to me that the reason hanging challenges muscles with tension to respond with increased strength is that the connective tissue and muscle is what holds our skeleton together, so it makes sense that it would be enough to be considered strength conditioning. Bruv also said something one time that I interpreted to agree with this. Am I full of shit? Am I asleep? Where the hell am I anyway?
