I'm sure orange sky photos would be small potatoes to NASA.

I'm sure orange sky photos would be small potatoes to NASA. Are you sure ? Take a shufti at this apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap200322.html There's usually a basic scientific explanation that comes with every page/photo. And it may be interesting to find out the reason why the sky is so orange in a thunderstorm, on occasion. I mean, isn't this the first time you've seen this colour in the sky during a thunderstorm in your whole sweet ? Or would you simply leave the orange sky phenomena in the realms of Pratt folklore, you know, "the day the sky turned orange when lightning and thunder hit our town, and some jerk who played the pipes walked off with all our kids when we didn't pay him $200k for turning the sky blue again." (You may have to save the links and open them again on google, this server doesn't seem to open them.)

The reason the sky was orange was because the clouds uniformly blanketed the sky, and then in the West, there was just enough of a clearing to allow the rays of the setting sun to reflect off the clouded sky.

Ah well, that's a good story ruined.

I wasn't actually up there.....my ship was anchored in a river beneath the mountain and we had a clear view of the statue of the Kuan Yin commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Guan_Yin_Keelung.jpg

That photo reminds me of when we had sand from the Sahara blow over England from the jet stream. We didn't have sky that orange though.
