Stumbled across this video last night and found it fascinating. Ended up watching the whole thing. It's a documentary on the English group, The Shadows, 60 years later. Because they were the backup group for Cliff Richards, he is also featured in the video. I remember the guitar instrumental "Apache", but I didn't recall who had recorded it. It came from England. I'll be darned. Cliff Richards was the Elvis Presley of England. He never caught on in the U.S.A., but I know at least one of his movies, Holiday something or other, did make it over here. I saw it as a teenager. The lead guitarist is Hank Marvin. His name is also rhyming slang for "starving" as in "I'm Hank Marvin" = "I'm starving" it can also be shortened to "I'm Hank" www.cockneyrhymingslang.co.uk/slang/hank_marvinThis ad combines "Apache", Hank Marvin's look and the rhyming slang phrase "Hank Marvin". My favourite part is the dog right at the very end.

In other words, it's a very clever commercial. There was a restaurant right here in Pratt named "Starvin' Marvin's." Imagine that! Right here in small-town, Bo-hunk, Kansas. As sophisticated as the Brits!

As a kid growing up and watching the Ed Sullivan Show at my grandmother's house, I discovered and took a liking to the Dave Clark Five. This song was one of my favorites:
Think I saw Bruce dancing in this one, do you spot him?
