It makes sense to me, because I know that hunters can go weeks, months and even seasons without getting something for the table (like deer, elk, rabbits, pheasants etc.) And where you are out there hunting, the tables can be turned on you in an instant too. You know, sabre tooth tigers, gigantic bears, pissed off mammoths, jealous tribesmen and things like that.
It does become quite easier if you are willing to eat anything that that creeps and crawls through the woods. You know, things like worms, grubs, snails, snakes, frogs, injured bats and other tummy yummies.
You will also find out something I guarantee no one here knew. And if you do know, we do not want to know how you know
In a 1925 study the size of colons was found to vary from one country to the next with the average Russian apparently having a colon five feet longer than the average Turk.

"So what do other living primates eat, the ones with guts mostly like ours, eat?" Who gives a fuck? Why look at what a lemur eats when there's plenty of humans still living something like the lifestyle our ancestors did that have been studied numerous times and none of them are so pathetic that they can only hunt down frogs and slugs. These are people that are living in the least hospitable places on earth because the best hunting grounds were taken long ago. Nobody moved to the Kalahari desert because they thought it would be great to hunt there. They were pushed out of the better hunting areas but they still manage to hunt down animals.

I think the environment has huge role on diet. Eskimos eat whale and seal blubber and thrive. Masai tribesman milk and blood. People close to bodies of water fish and seafood. Jungle dwellers omnivores. People on fertile land vegetables and grains. And so on. And they all live. There are difference in life span too.

Indeed and it was such a shame that those American Indian tribes kept getting their vegetable patches on the fertile prairie trampled by the marauding herds of bison.

I read that during the 1800's, the Plains Indians were among the tallest people on earth, living on an almost entirely meat diet. On the other hand those little South American tribes in the Amazon are very short. Also at one time, human flesh was the primary source of animal protein among the Aztec ruling class. They basically ate all their neighbors.
