This guy has initiated a new "sport" to train for!!! "Kick ass at 100"
Some of you may have seen this already, thought some may be interested in hearing an interesting perspective on growing old gracefully!
Enjoy! or not!

hhenthusiast, thank you for posting this video. Believe it or not, I viewed it in its entirety despite its duration. I'm well aware of Peter Attia and follow him on Twitter. He's one of a kind with his brilliance and intellect. I really enjoyed the entire video and what was discussed is definitely new food for thought to dwell on. Don't know if he's going to live any longer than what is his destiny, and neither will we but, we can increase the quality of life we live for the remainder of our lives. Thanks again.

I recall Charles Atlas saying that the human body was made to live 100 years. He died at 79.

Great video. Brilliant guy. Had heard of him before, but this was the first time I’d listened to him in depth.
Thanks for posting.

That was an interesting video, Thanks for posting. Never heard of the guy so that was new to me. When I first saw the "Living To 100" thing I thought another know it all and why would You want to. But he didn't come off as a know it all. I believe there are a lot of variables to growing old gracefully that no one can possibly know. Even though he did not live to 100, Jack Lalanne would be my go to guy to growing old gracefully. Just a couple of things that stuck out to me in the video and some that made me giggle. 1) Train the Muscle not the joint. Stormshadow, Where did we hear that before, . I have gotten away from this a little myself. No knock on anyone but sometimes the exercise police tell us full range of motion and locking out is the only way we are doing an exercise right. Is it? Isn't it all about Time Under Tension? 2) Lifting that 30lb bag and putting it in the overhead compartment in an airplane, . Don't judge but be careful of Your shoulder, . 3) Training more than one Energy System. This is a subject I find really interesting. I don't think it's good to push Your limits all the time. When You do that You're only working one energy system, just my opinion. Plus You will pay in the end. I know I'll be paying for some of the work I've done and still do. 4) He said something about the military press. I think it was something like there was no use for it and the risk-reward factor. I do KB Presses but it is not the only thing I do for shoulders. The other stuff I do is what I consider rehab. I'm no expert so I have no idea of the risk/reward factor except for how my shoulders feel. But the part that he says I believe that in everyday life we don't use this or do it. To me, it's just like when guys say we don't do arm curls, I would disagree. If You think about what he said about lifting the 30lb bag in the airplane, Aren't You pretty much pressing that? Just my thoughts whether You agree or disagree.

I think these guys are auditioning to be the next Three Stooges. I saw some sternum punches from both sides. They apparently must both be "our methods" students so there was no clear cut winner. Of course we'll need full boxing commentary from macky.

Maybe this is an extreme example of the perils of having balance issues as we age. I remember watching the news reporting this long ago. It was gory.

The only thing scientifically proven to extend the lifespan of mammals is caloric deficit. Probably not going to catch on in the Land of Plenty.

The only thing scientifically proven to extend the lifespan of mammals is caloric deficit. Probably not going to catch on in the Land of Plenty. You can only eat in a calorie deficit mode for so long otherwise, you'll continue to lose body weight. There comes a time when you shouldn't lose any more weight. Other than that, I do like the benefits of slightly eating below my needs (basal metabolic rate plus activities of daily living plus exercise.)
