I just got shipping confirmation for the Husafell Stone loadable replica I ordered from Titan Fitness...It'll be here next week www.titan.fitness/strongman/carry/other-carry-1/husafell-stone/430029.html#***Contrary to what some of these internet workout guru nitwit 'experts' like Drew Baye (yawn) have to say, loaded carries are a super efficient way to train for overall strength and stamina.

I waddled along with the husafell stone once, but I didn't have to pick it off the ground, it was already positioned on a barrel or some other plinth.
Actually, I was told that's what I was carrying, but I am not 100% convinced. In any case I had some sort of sleeve over my forearms.

I duffel bag probably puts more strain on the chest and maybe less on the arms. It might be wise to use handles or a stand to lift the bag from.

How about a 300# Heavybag ala Rocky Marciano?

He really put his weight behind a punch! Rocky sometimes trained by throwing piles of rocks around in different ways, to the side, over the shoulder etc. But then he had to retire because of back pain, maybe there was a link?

Henry, keep it simple and do your carries when out and about by carrying Mrs. Henry in a "Here Comes the Bride" carry. If you need more of a challenge, ask Large Marge, Gruntdaddy's girlfriend. He'll give you her telephone number.

Cheap, lesser beings like me can stick with loaded duffel bags I've got a bag filled up with rubber mulch that I bearhug and carry or sling over my shoulder. It also has a strategically placed handle that lets me do a suitcase carry with it.

I hope it's more comfortable on your forearms than it appears that it would be. I was at work when it was delivered and my wife told me that the box was outside and looked "destroyed"... Uh Oh Got home and yeah, OMG, the box looked like they shipped this thing from hell itself, but strangely enough my 'Husafell' replica was unscathed, YAY !!!!! I'll bet the Fedex guy was probably cursing me out though !!! ...but anyway, scooped it up for a (very) short carry, and surprisingly it felt fine on the forearms. Then again it's only about #110 pounds empty, so I'll report back after playing with it on Saturday
