I have a good friend who came here from Ireland. He made a lot of money here but left the country after a divorce and some legal problems that were going to land him in Sheriff Joe's detention camp out in the desert. We still communicate via FB, but he confirms the only Press that Trump gets overseas is bad press. I think anyone not here is probably getting a very skewed view, like we have some mad man running around the White House, incoherent and incompetent.
Prior to the GLOBAL pandemic, Trump had created the best economy in U.S. History, all time low unemployment numbers for blacks and hispanics. We could have used such a bumbling fool the past 40 years in that case. In fact he's so stupid, he somehow managed to retire the Clintons AND the Bush families from politics. Again, where was this blithering idiot 20 years ago. The fact is, Trump is EXACTLY what America needed. A man who couldn't be bought. He already had the fame and the money, and everyone wanted to be associated with this guy until he had the audacity to challenge the corrupt political DEEP STATE here. It's no longer a conspiracy, it's a fact being brought more and more to light every day.
Oh yeah, and then there's the fact he's donated every penny of his Presidential salary to altruistic causes like veterans. Remember that time Obama donated ...OUR money in a plane to the terrorist nation of Iran? A stark difference. Yes, America is in danger, and we are well aware of it, that's what got Trump the job. The political class was happy to manage America right into a grave, filling their pockets on the way to the funeral. Biden is corrupt, his kid is corrupt, Obama and Holder should be in jail for Fast and Furious, etc. We have had enough, the old "Oh both parties are corrupt" stuff may have some truth, but when Obama/Biden talk about "fundamentally changing America", that makes people wake up. We DON'T WANT TO FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA. We have a Constitution they want to be rid of in that pursuit.
I haven't been brainwashed, indoctrinated, or anything else. A million people can agree on a lie and it's still a lie. I will vote for the guy who wants to keep America great, not the one who wants to "fundamentally change" it, while making his coke-head kid a millionaire selling influence. Only a fool would vote for today's Democratic Party, everything they do is about Power, and to Hell with the America we leave our kids.
If only he googled "good things Trump has done" he would see much of the positive Trump accomplishments that Capitaine speaks of, and plenty to be proud of. The list is extensive.
Unfortunately, once again Capitaine's post indicates that he is firmly under the "us and them" partisan mindset which I've warned about in the principle post of this thread. We all know Biden is no viable opposition to anybody, let alone Trump. And whatever the Democrats are or are not, they provide a choice for voters which is essential if democracy is to be maintained.
Re the "Deep State" comment, I've been warning people on here almost since I've been posting on Sierra (ten years) that America is being controlled by forces in behind the figureheads, well before Trump ever turned up, and that they certainly continue today, Trump or no Trump.
A major part of those forces is the CIA and related "security" agencies, some who are fronts for the CIA anyway. A cursory glance at MKUltra as I've posted so many times on this forum should indicate all but the most cloistered in their thinking, that the CIA operate well outside the law, bereft of common decency, and are not influenced by any democratic vote.
Big Money is also largely outside any control by Trump or any other President. I've detailed why that is, often. It's quite obvious that in many cases, as on Skeptoid which has now shut down public discussion after I continued to reveal Brian Dunning's conflict of interest (the police-state nature of the FD-302 FBI form) I might has well have simply talked to the letter box. Or maybe the concrete garden gnome.
Naturally, this is a forum of gentlemen, and I for one do not expect to agree with everybody, nor do I expect ANYbody to agree with me. We've had some informed and interesting discussions and debates over the years, and I've learned a lot from others here, including Capitaine.
But my principle post and starting this thread was a warning to the members here was not about whether Trump had done anything good or not for America, but the state of his mental equilibrium using another example of someone familiar we all know, in comparison.
That of course was not the only reference I used, and as per the "good things" research, I googled "is Trump mentally ill" and read site after site of professional opinions and even at least one interview early in Trump's prezzy career (or just before) where Trump clearly indicated ongoing problems with his perception of reality and his place in it.
My opinion that Trump is not well was not reinforced by only one site, but by at least ten sites that explored his mental state from different angles and results. By my own personal experiences in life, that includes multiple visits to a mental hospital over many years in the telecommunication department, from confirmation from other health professionals, and by definitive outlines by reasonably conservative sites such as Wiki.
In other words, I haven't made up my mind on the back of newspaper "reports".
The latest lunacy on Trump's part has been posted on another thread here last night (NZ). It reflects a serious lack of logical thought, and coherence. Failure to recognize that by Trump supporters indicates the same slavish mindset that my grandfather had "Labour can do no wrong" and if anyone wants a rough comparison to another dictator, then Hitler is a classic example of first doing some good things for the German economy, then a Deutschland Uber Alles (first verse illegal to sing in Germany), then led his people into hell.
Like Stalin and Chairman Mao, this reflected the same sort of aberrated mindset that Trump is increasingly demonstrating by his illogical thought processes and dictatorial behaviour, and is a serious heads-up to the American people, and ultimately those of the world.
In other words as I said in my fist post, forget party politics etc because this goes far deeper into the control of America than mere elections, party politics, Trump, or anyone else. But from our level, it starts with Trump, and that in turn starts by examining his state of mind.
The Covid 19 virus more than anything else could have done, has exposed said mindset. The man is clearly not well and his deeds, good and bad, are irrelevant to his condition and the danger he presents to the American people.
