I decided that this issue is very important at the moment. The Zoom situation is enough. So I thought about creating a topic where you can leave your tips on how to protect yourself online.

Keep your eyes open and your mouth (that means keyboard) shut.

At an IT professional, with 35 years experience, I think I can contribute to this thread. Don't turn your computer on. An off computer is a happy computer. If you must turn your computer on, turn your router off.
Computers are a pain. The only computer I've ever had that did its job well, was the one that held the junk in, under the stairs. It did an excellent job for years.

VPN is not a lie. They protect you from leaking personal data, such as MAC addresses and IP addresses, to the public Internet. This is very important for ensuring operational security, regardless of whether you are engaged in hacking or transmitting confidential data. This is why I recommend using a VPN. I use veepn veepn.com/what-is-vpn/ it is the best in my opinion.

Make sure that anything you say about yourself online is a complete fabrication.
