When there’s a will............. As long as we practice responsible social distancing, which we do, there are lots of amazing places near us to visit and enjoy. Vegas and the surrounding areas have much to offer besides the gambling culture. Are you and GF maintaining your 6' distance apart? When we argue, yes. 🤣

So, with the gambling shut down, you've now moved on to horse rustling? It’s all about being resourceful in these rapidly changing times. I learned this from a fat dude from Oregon. You may have heard of him. He visited Paris once.

I'd step out into our surrounding countryside around here and take pictures to post, but all anyone would see would be flat, endless wheat fields and corn fields in all directions.

MBS (or anyone else who hikes long distances):
1. What are the most comfortable boots you've found for this purpose?
2. What specific feature(s), if any, of this boot do you think makes that brand the best for your hikes? (i.e. toe box? heel strike? grippy soles? lacing system? arch support or lack of? flexibility? weight? durability? etc, etc.)
Thanks!

The most important thing is to wear shoes/ boots that are comfortable for you. Most of all the brands out there are similar, despite what marketing ads have to say. The hike I did yesterday was in a pair of Adidas ax2’s From Costco. just an all purpose outdoor shoe, for $30 a pair that’s sturdy, light, and great on my feet!

Back in the 70's hiking was catching on, and elaborate, expensive hiking boots were all the yuppie rage. I went hiking with a girl who lent me a pair of bonafide, world-class hiking boots. There were fully padded in all the right places and as rigid as steel. They were sheer hell. They weighed a ton and wore me out, and they were incredibly uncomfortable. Ever since then, sneakers have been my choice for hiking footwear - comfy and light on the feet.

I suppose encounters of this sort could happen when entering the mountain lion's wilderness domain.

We are in their world. I love that aspect of being outdoors, and seeing them in their natural way.
Again, in 20 years of hiking there, I’ve never seen one. Was surprised to see this on FB.
