About slam balls, my 15-lb'er is a good weight but it all depends on what you want to achieve with it. For me, it's cardiovascular conditioning so I'm using mine for high-speed overhead slams trying to get volume in a short time period. I can't imagine using anything heavier but it all depends on how you design the workout. With a heavier slam ball, you definitely have to taper the reps per round and increase the recovery time between rounds because you can't do it all. One other thing, I like mine because when I slam it, it plops and doesn't bounce back up. I'll probably start with either a 10 or 15 pounder, thanks

You can make your own out of a 24" length of 1/2" PVC and a couple of bicycle grips: Make your own kettlebells:

Make your own kettlebells: Your 'contraption' may be ok for swings or Turkish Get-Ups, but I wouldn't want to use that for snatches or clean & press... OUCH ! ***Has anyone else noticed that the price for individual weight plates, Olympic AND 1" standard size has now officially gone through the roof and/or seems to be "out of stock" everywhere you look ?... I was looking into getting a pair of 35 pound olympic plates a few months ago, and from what I remember they were around $70 for the pair, maybe a bit less, including shipping from Amazon. I held off at the time, but now with my new T-Handle for swings I thought I'd see how they'd work. NOPE, the prices are now much higher, so instead of buying new I'm instead going to track down who I 'lent' out the pair of 35's that I already had and take 'em back

Thank you for the information, I looking to possibly get one for my garage, I want to do dips with bands , kind of like a poor man’s weight assisted dips, doing dips that way don’t seem to bother my shoulders. DDH, this is what I do with dips. I loop one of Bruce's bands through my 24kg KB behind me. I really like these. I know Your shoulder history so be careful if You really want to do them. Matt has some good tips for dips: www.youtube.com/results?search_query=red+delta+project+safe+dipsThank you Michael for the information , at the gym I go to they have a weight assisted dip and chin machine and after a really good warm up for my shoulders, I would do some dips, not going to low, and they felt good, I gave my mother in law’s walker she used when she was alive in the garage, I would put a heavy duty strap on the bars, my knees on the straps , and do some dips, they felt good, but I would like something mite secure, plus If I could maybe do some inverted rows with it. Many moons ago I use to do weighted dips, and I like how my upper body development hit from them, thank you aging for the information , Im going to try that.

I made up a T-Bar as shown in Tim Ferris's The Four Hour Body book just to try it, even though I had kettlebells. Works great for swings and deadlifts, but obviously not for the C&P. A T-Bar and some miscellaneous plates along with an adjustable dumbbell handle to use with the plates for the clean & press could very well be less expensive than a similar weight KB. Yes, prices on weight plates, dumbbells, and kettlebells has currently skyrocketed due to high demand from all the people trying to stay fit at home now. That might ease up once the freighter loads of that stuff on it's way from China make it here again and the commercial gyms re-open.

Yep, seems the majority of plates, dumbbells, and kettlebells are pretty much out of stock everywhere now, although I did just score what was probably the last 1000 pound rated, 6 foot X 2" thick diameter, chromed solid steel, 60 pound Olympic curling bar from Titan Fitness... www.titan.fitness/strength/barbells/specialty/fat-ez-curl-bar-%7C-rackable/430078.html#I had my eye on it for awhile, and decided to splurge when I saw the majority of their other products go 'out of stock'.... Just used it yesterday for the first time and LOVE IT Basically hits your entire arms when you curl with it, from the fingers up to the biceps !
