Well the chief medical officer in the U.K. says the UK is about 4 weeks behind Italy. So not good. He's also said it is not desirable to try to stop it as we need to develop herd immunity.
Our prime minister has said today lots of families here are going to lose loved ones.
I'm going to see my parents this weekend and then have to avoid contact for months over fear of infecting them.
My workplace won't put in any strict measures to try to keep us safe. They've buried their heads in the sand.
Bad times when you're praying this won't be the year your parents get taken early.

I wish your father well, Silvertoes.
Well, my wife and I are the elderly parents. Things might not go so well if we get it. There's a serious flu going around Pratt right now. I'm hoping against hope that we don't get it. I said earlier in this thread that I had to leave a party last Saturday because a lady showed up who said that her husband and kids were down with the flu.
But, I swear! It seems that one way or another a flu will find you. I took my cats into the Vet's today for their shots. After the Vet and I were practically on top of each other trying to wrestle each of my cats down, she tells me she's there alone today because her two assistants are out sick and that her son is home sick with the flu. Oh, great!
On the other hand, I wonder if contracting this flu will install antibodies that might combat the Coronavirus.

Here's the most accurate and comprehensive info I've seen on the subject of this virus so far...

This Coronavirus scenario has put a big dent in my stock portfolio 😢 I moved to money market around the DOW 27000 mark. I'll buy back in later. This is going to hit hard. We've worked really hard since 2008 to slim the supply chain so fucking tight it can't cope with any disruption. Now we have a major disruption. Peronally, I say self isolate as much as you can. It will slow the virus down, keep the hospitals able to cope and grow the herd immunity. Lots of folks still not taking it seriously which at this point is either an utter display of ignorance, or a coping mechanism because they are shitting their pants. I hope everyone stays safe.

I don't believe Michael Osterholm. He's fanning the flames of panic, fear and hysteria. Maybe it serves him somehow to do this. (My opinion ^)
I suggest choosing gratitude first.

Me too, Mags, me too. My overall impression of the interview is that Mr Osterholm is mainly speaking to people who are not as focused on health as many of us are. "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself." I hope we all stay well and healthy.

I haven't been going to 24 Hour Fitness, now that I have a "free" gym membership being a Medicare Man. But, I had already sort of decided I was going to cancel my free membership after discovering that I enjoy more doing it the way I've been doing It the past couple years. That's training solo at my office and at various parks, by myself. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The 24 Hour Fitness that I selected is a super gym, meaning it's loaded with all the fitness tools one would ever need but with it also comes unbelievable people density working out and good for them. I've discovered I don't like the crowds and am more reclusive and solo with my training. Now, if I was a single dude on the make, I can't think of a better place to be with all the young and pretty people prancing around.
Obviously, staying away from crowded places like a gym is smart.
In other news, my wife won't let me touch anything in the kitchen and she's now responsible for my nutrition needs. I'm having a hard time getting my calories in the past couple days. I'm going to have to figure out how to solve this riddle.
