I just read an article that said globally half the cases half been recovered from. Didn't say how long on average tho. Yes, and most of those recoveries are from China where people have been infected the longest. I noted the date and time of the one Kansas appearance. I'll monitor it and see when he/she (hopefully!) recovers. I live in the MPLS/St Paul area. We have two cases now on opposite sides of the metro area. The first one was a person that had been on a cruise ship. The second one was traveling in Europe in late February. My wife was in Target earlier today and she was noticing what they were out of. Disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and the like were gone. That was prior to the second case being announced which is in our county.

As this thread feeds the fire of chronic stress and hysteria with "news" of big, bad flu, some questions have occurred to me: How many members here remember the "Swine Flu"? How about "Ebola"? "Zika"? "SARS"? These were major outbreaks, right? (Oh, but this one is MUCH worse. (rofl) ) How many of you had one of the above? Anyone you personally know had them? Any of those die? Yeah, that's what I thought. None of us have a way of validating any of the current hoopla. The stories are being told in the usual sensational way, with intimations to make it sound really bad. Like the Chinese doctor that died (I think at the Wuhan facility) during this circus. I haven't read anywhere that the flu killed him, but the story is obviously told in a way to imply that. Well, I'm taking this seriously. Both my wife and I are high risk and if either of us get this thing it is unlikely that either of us will recover. Since I noted the first case in Kansas 19 hours ago, another has appeared.

Good idea, hopefully this won't live up to the 'hype', but it's just plain foolish to not take precautions anyway... www.fox5ny.com/news/officials-not-ruling-out-shutting-down-mass-transit-in-wake-of-coronavirus

And, Magsietoes, I am taking your vitamin C recommendation seriously.

And, Magsietoes, I am taking your vitamin C recommendation seriously. I take approx 2000mg a day in supplement form, and the rest from food. As far as vitamin C specific foods, today I had 2 large 'California' oranges, and I just downed a delicious mixture of orange and mango juice mixed with Activia yogurt, and frozen blueberries and 'tart' cherries... Tastes great and it's good for what ails you

I see New York is deploying the National Guard for the Flu. Might be good for us all now that some politicians have been exposed, they might pull their head out.
