Please note: at the end of the set, Brown doesn't fling or just let the DBs go. He sets them down. Lessons for those kids not familiar with real gym etiquette.

I see loads of older men just letting weights go with a crash, rather than setting them down. I don't know if they think it is butch, if they are lazy or if they are at their limit. I also get really peed off when people don't put the equipment they've used away. Even when I am right at the edge, I'll put the weight down gently. I was doing some blob holds the other day, and I could feel my grip going. I knelt down for the last few seconds, so that if my grip does go, there isn't an almighty crash, and the weight won't land on my foot either.

Excellent cable set too I've had Mike Brown's cable set forever. Purchased it years ago, cycled the cables, kept them clean, stored in a cool place and they've held up incredibly well. It is a great/solid little design, but, Bruce's "hook" is clearly easier to use and add/remove cables vs. Mike's where you have to unscrew the handle to add or remove your strands.

I wonder what his Strength of Sampson book is like?

Even though I improved Mike's handles , the HOOK still wins( I put removable slit hose pieces over the grip areas and I thickened the area where the bands attach to the handles) . BTW both cable systems work with large flat resistance bands .

I wonder what his Strength of Sampson book is like? DDH, that is one I don't have, but I talked to a friend that had one. He gained a huge amount of weight and went from the low 100s to over 230 pounds in weight. He explains why he thinks the Biblical Sampson did to get so strong. It is quite Bible heavy and that is why I skipped it to tell you the truth. I think he had certain foods that were mentioned in the Bible that you should eat and should not. He also said that sex weakened you. There are many who believe that especially boxers. I am not in that camp. I forget the baseball person that said it but he said something like it was not sex that weakened you and made you play bad, it was staying up to all hours of the night, drinking and foregoing sleep.
Brown served some time and he has a pretty good knife fighting book with another guy
Prison's Bloody Iron: Deadly Knife Fighting Tactics Revealed Paperback – September 1, 1978 Harold J. Jenks (Author), Michael H. Brown (Author)
This is one of the best out there and it is free. Has been on The Web for years. It is from a guy that was in Folsom prison and many of the techniques were observed and perfected there. Unfortunately, one of the most common attacks is the ambush and that is a hard one to prepare for. Situational awareness is one of the best things you can do. And don't go to prison of course.
www.academyofselfdefence.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Put-Em-Down-Take-Em-Out-Knife-Fighting-Pentecost-Don.pdf
I think it is worthwhile for all to read for self defense reasons. Seems like lots of people these days in Europe are getting attacked by people with knives and hatchets and other items. Unfortunately, trucks and cars and vans are up there too.
I am posting for informational and defensive purposes. Less and less people are interested in knives, because so many have guns. And as one knows, don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Well I just did a search for 120 lbs DBs but I think 360 lbs maybe too much for me?

Blag, The softness of those DBs may not give a person callouses or maybe only on one hand. I can see how you can easily do a Jurkish get up.

He is a strong guy but he has some weird ideas with all that bible strength stuff. Plus if I remember right he was the guy that said smoking was better for you than drinking soda, he said he could make a champion out of a smoker, but wouldn't train anyone who liked fizzy drinks, or some such nonsense

Stormshadow, I think the ballplayer you mention was Bo Belinsky who pitched for the Angels among others.
