For the past three years, I have been mastering the Science and Art of Isometric Contraction. More than anything else I have learned first hand that in terms of Health and Strength benefits achieved in the least amount of time that nothing that I have ever come across comes close to delivering the wide-ranging benefits of Isometric Contraction and bear in mind that I have studied Physical Culture for the past 55 years since I was 11 years old.
Simply put, in terms of delivering the greatest strength in the least amount of time nothing comes close to Power Belt Isometrics. The wide-ranging angles and the number of exercises that are possible are beyond all other types of apparatus and the ease of adjustment once mastered is in seconds instead of minutes. With the Living Strength Isometric Power Belt, you can achieve and duplicate EVERY angle that is possible to achieve with free weights and machines. Not only that but you can accomplish these benefits in 100% safety. How is that possible? Because Living Strength Power Belt Isometrics are not based on the use of gravity and for that reason there is nothing to fall back on you, You also have zero compression to the spine that is caused by the continual downward pull of gravity when doing Squats, Deadlifts, and all Overhead Pressing movements. Yet, once you acquire the ability to push yourself, you can and will go to the edge of the edge of your strength for the most challenging contractions imaginable.
This brings up a Point. Years ago when I had several conversations with Coach James Baley he was clear that he had developed his version of the Isometric Power Belt to replace exercises with an Isometric Power Rack and that those athletes he had trained with it acquired greater strength in a fraction of the time that was achieved when weights were used. He literally told me and wrote in his books that one could accomplish in 25 minutes with a Power Belt all of the benefits of heavy Barbell and Dumb-Bell exercises that would require more then 2-hours when training with either weights or a universal gym but that the Power Belt did not in any way compromise lateral mobility as is the case when one's spine has been compressed as the result of using heavy-weights. Bottom line compression of the spine and overtaxing the connective tissues of the Joints, Ligaments and Tendons was completely eliminated with Coach Baley's Power Belt Isometrics but was unavoidable with barbells, dumbbells, and machines.
So are there 'Negatives' to Isometric strengthening?
Answer: Isometrics are the master method of those that are capable of pushing themselves to the edge of the edge. YOU DO NOT have a specific amount of weight against which you are pitting your strength but on the other hand, nothing can fall back on you as stated above. So, if you're a self-motivated individual there are no deficiencies or liabilities...if you're not...forget Isometrics
