....... I like the intentional easing off before releasing the hold. I cannot do that with the 1 minute holds because I am just glad to be done. ..... I ease off even on longer holds. Although I'm kinda glad it's done, I've had some negative experiences from letting go abruptly. Good scheme for any hold, in my opinion, max or sub-max. The body/mind "sets into" even a long sub-max hold, and the abrupt release can be a shock to the system, sort of like something snapping after full tension. Even with max holds, the easing off can last only two seconds and still be effective, if you're at the end of your tether. I found that after such a tough mind-physical effort as the 30-30-30, a moment of mental quietness and standing (not sitting) still after the drill for maybe 30 seconds and breathing steadily was beneficial. As an aside, Silverlooks has been knocking off 30-30-30's for years, almost exclusively it seems. Along with a few others on here, he's one tough cookie.
