“Besides, all the bad advice dished out by Greg needs a little - - a lot of – counterbalance…” Texasranger, It is not a big deal. Speed and ~ accuracy is fist and second requirements if you shoot under stress at a real defense range. However, this is not a place to discuss shooting technique. If you want, sign in to Greg’s site, and we will continue. I've shot many times at real shooting ranges, including tactical, in the military, Seeker...not sure what a real defense range is? And let me help out: slow is steady and steady is fast is what I think you're trying to say. It was said in "Shooter", a film with Mark Wahlberg and now everyone thinks the military says it. Weapons training I've learned from people who knew their stuff? Control is typically the first thing you'll hear. Breath, movement. Oh, I remember when Greg also said pushups on T-handles are recommended for shooters and shooting strength. No, kemosabe -- I read that one and realized he's making this stuff up as he goes. Over on that good ole AMM, I cited three or four sites where top shooters talk about strength training...sorry folks, none one of those elites said a thing about those silly handles. Even good ole Pavel got it right years ago when he said the former Soviet military used KBs to strengthen their shooting muscles. Why isn't this a place to discuss shooting techniques (after all, you be da one who brought up Greg's new site)? Besides, no point in signing on to Greg's site and getting booted off three minutes later after I point out every mistake in his video.

"Seeker...not sure what a real defense range is?" Defense shooting range is <25 feet. According statistics, ~90% of firearm confrontations occur at this distance.
"Control is typically the first thing you'll hear. Breath, movement." In general, this thing is correct for target shooting and novices.
"... top shooters talk about strength training." That is why i love exercises with a stick. It is a great tool for the grip training.
"Why isn't this a place to discuss shooting techniques..." I feel it is not an appropriate site for that.
"Besides, no point in signing on to Greg's site and getting booted off three minutes later after I point out every mistake in his video." Be tolerant and discuss with others (rofl)

You build on the basics like any skill...control is the foundation for all shooting whether you're a sniper, a deer hunter or firing in an indoor range. (2) Nope. Repeat dry pulls. Grippers, weights are also recommended by more knowledgeable and accomplished people that me. (3) Welllll...don't see any rules that govern otherwise and Bruce's forums typically take on their own life in terms of where the discussions go. "Feelings...nothing more than feelings..." (4) OMG, seriously? ? LOLOL!! You write this...yet Greg bans people who even hint at disagreement?! Drops their posts if he doesn't undertand them? #1 Rule at Greg's board: "Praise the lord and press the delete button!"

And tactical shooting ranges actually teach what Greg's trying to do in the video...

Texas I love fast defensive shooting at short distances as more practical in our life situations. I live in a rural area; therefore, I am firing every week in outdoor an indoor, as well use dry shooting with a laser sign for training. Great tool for that! (1) and (2) are great recommendations for novices. I would not like to discuss shooting because there are many toxic people here.

Well Seeker, for (1) and (2), I've met some great shooters and people who've used guns in combat -- not novices -- and I'm sure they'll be the first to tell you that you're incorrect after me. Whether I'm using a Mossberg or Glock, it is control of your weapon. Period. And you live in a rural area and you're doing shooting at short distances for "life situations". Hmmm... "Toxic people"...? Probably one of the most fun groups along with AMM around. But, I hope you're not serious. I'd call Greg's bitter insecurities toxic...giving a teenage girl lithium, toxic.

I've got a call into a former co-worker/friend that was a SEAL...served on one of the Teams fighting room to room during the evacuation of Saigon during the Vietnam conflict. I've mentioned him in previous posts on another board: he's in his 60s, does P90X -- to include chins with his scuba tanks -- and runs. Did I mention he's in his 60s? Anyway, he shoots at least 2x per week and gave me tips, ideas on guns, etc., when we worked together. Also have a call into friend in south Texas...has an impressive selection of rifles, handguns. Knew Charlie Wilson personally from a prior life. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Wilson_(Texas_politician)) Part owner of a deer lease out near LLano, his daughter (I may be wrong) has won some shooting titles. Think I'll see what they say...

Yes, it's real - not an antique, an Uberti replica.

Well Pierini wouldn't approve of the direction this thread has taken. Tommy Kono Tommy Kono Tommy Kono ...now he would. Whiffet...what is the link to your site? My blog link is a bit of a long-running joke. I deleted my blog in temper when I split up with the girl I was engaged to, but I never removed the non-working link from my signature!
