I'm not saying I'm right, that's just what I read years ago. Searching this now You see 30-40 grams. Who do You believe? I just listen to what my body tells me and professionals. Probably coming from more of bodybuilding workouts this is more for building muscle. I do believe that Your body can only use so much protien at each meal. I have no idea how many grams that is, I just eat normal. I understand we're all differant so it will be different for everyone. I didn't watch that video. It's hard to watch some of those longer videos because of time constraints but I'll try to watch it in pieces.
I think but could be wrong, the frequent meal thing was something Vince Gironda made popular. I honestly was just wondering what You guys thought about protien intake. It wasn't a "I'm right and Your wrong thing". My personal opinion from what I read and heard is it depends on a lot of variables. I think health wise it's probably better to keep it lower. If You're trying to build muscle or get stronger than a little more will help. I heard stuff about to much is bad for the kidneys and other stuff. I like the article Whiffet posted. Honestly I have no right giving advice on this but I feel healthy and strong.

It's hard to watch some of those videos because they're FUCKING BORING! Honestly I have no right giving advice on this but I feel healthy and strong. You have every right to give advice.

I believe the assertion that geezers ( over 65) require more protein has some agreement among researchers including Dr Longo; his suggested protein amount is still low. Again who really knows?

, Bruce You are something, I get a kick out of You. Some of the stuff could be interesting. Shorter videos are much easier to listen to. But most of these people have some kind of agenda. I believe protien intake depends on Your life style, genetics, and goals. A retired person that does nothing physical would probably have differant requirments than someone that works everyday. But again as Gruntbrain said," Who really knows".

Iirc excess protein is burned, rather rendable but more taxing for the system then sucres/carbohydrates.

Yeah, increasing gross protein and lowering gross carbs &/or fat calories while maintaining gross calorie intake will burn off fat since it lowers net calories due to the digestion required for the protein. It's an easy way to lose fat slowly and steadily without feeling starved.

Let's hope increasing protein does not result in health problems like effing cancer .

How about a further study on added protein's effects on mortality? The increased muscle and strength may come at a later cost . If you eat any protein at all, you're sure to die one day.

Interesting topic. I think that, as with most things, virtue lies in the middle ground.
I take around 90-100 grams a day in 3 takes, took more but noticed I did not need it, if I take less I find it hard to train as hard/often.
Rest is more of a defining factor in my recuperation, providing a minimum of calories and protein and good quality of food.
