This description exactly matches the Precious Set of Monk Isometrics, #4, that's been floating around on this forum for several years now.

I consider Fred a friend. Just because someone can do an exercise that others can't doesn't always make it a gimmick. Maybe You guys didn't understand how Fred described it or don't want to do it, that's ok. You don't have to, no one is forcing You. It is smart not to do something You think is going to hurt You. It didn't hurt or bother me at all, had no problem doing it. Thanks Fred. Michael - So many exercises are gimmicks and only certain people can do them. Just a couple of examples: - In yoga, many of the so-called exercises evolved from the early contortionist era where street beggars in India would do these moves for $$. But, because they're "yoga" they're 'good' for you, functional, etc., and people end up getting injured, etc. Not disparaging yoga, btw. People like Sting at 70-something and 6' something looks fit as all get out. (Of course he follows a tight diet...)
- Neck bridges. A horrible move, has been always will be -- simply too risky most but Matt Furey demonstrated the move in his videos like it there was nothing to it, talked about it like the exercise was the second coming of Jesus or something for years (but bashed weights...hmmm).
Like Bruv, I gave it a try and realized it wasn't worth it possibly messing up my shoulders. Have you met Fred? You mention he's a friend...

I've seen Sting up close and he's right around my height of 5' 10" to 5' 11" range...

Hot Fudge Sundae-Banana Split w/Sprinkles - Won't do dairy, especially ice cream w/ a ton of sugar and milk fat.
- Sprinkles - Sugar + chemicals
- Hot Fudge - Won't even venture as to what is in there
Gimme the banana.

Furey did these since in school when young, light in weight, and flexible and kept doing as he got older, and larger which made it a mainstay for him. Who really knows besides him if he has any issues from doing it, but probably not. He may not even be doing it daily at this point. I lot of folks do it like this, from young and keep doing it. It becomes second nature.

I use a tennis ball placed against the door post & lean into it with "yes" & "no" motions. I jammed my neck with bridges & had to see a doctor to put my neck in traction & slowly stretch it out over several weeks. Never did that shit again.
