My best advice to him at this point would be to lose the ego and the stupid online 'forums' and go volunteer to help out those that can't help themselves, he'll soon realize just how lucky he really is... That's great advice!

I think Benny's main problem is that he is an immature attention seeking kid....and that seems to be a big problem today Growing up in NYC, I had neighbors and knew people from many parts of the world..... people who had seen and done so much, it was humbling listening to them talk What has Benny and many of his age group done....what have they lived through ? Many of them want their opinions respected and yet do nothing to warrant it Among the older people I met growing up, you knew your place and people would not hesitate to remind you of it....and they weren't afraid to call a spade a spade They were good people, but they didn't grant you their respect or attention like many young people of today think they deserve You had to earn their respect and if they granted you their attention, they had something important or educational to share Smart ass kids weren't tolerated like today, especially among the older people in the neighborhood bars, as many young guys found out Benny needs to realize that this is the real world, with real people ....not Mr Rogers Neighborhood

Having read you past post, I must say that I am 33 and you are right: in general, younger generations (mine and now teenagers) are very entitled to their opinions. As if anyone actually cared... Their internet persona is very important for their egos, they are prone to emotional outbursts vs researching facts, they feel important and unique, have a hard time coping with responsibilities and hold little value to the transmission of the past (family, ancestors, culture, etc...). As I said, in general. I have an expression in spanish which I use quite a bit and translated it means: go to work in a mine...self explaining, yet some people still don't get how hard has life been to many past generations, since the earliest culture: war, slavery, famine, etc... Yet they managed to survive and transmit what they were to a new generation. That is why Europe is falling, the transmission is being cut. Interesting post jonrock Could the formation of the EU be partly responsible ? I can remember being in the USAF and USN and going to places in the world and in each place I collected some currency in paper and coins Some places like Spain had beautiful, colorful money which reflected their history and culture When these countries currencies were replaced by the Euro, I felt that they possibly lost a part of their culture and that countries lost some of their identity, now being part of the EU instead of individual countries with their traditions and history

I also agree with your opinion regarding younglings and their seniors. Things are changing incredibly fast, what was until very recently is now no more (and being forgotten). Our history, culture, art and religion have been the mirror in which we looked at to see our better selves. Life imitates art. But now, given that everything is being forgotten and replaced, our heads are getting filled with other kind of "ideas" and families are slowly dissolving, which are our models that guide us and will guide the next Generation? I think that demands a very personal and honest answer.

That's sad....especially in a country as traditional as Spain In the U.S. many of the young people are "offended" by much of our traditions and act like Benny.....crying and complaining about everything

Can’t remember the specifics, but didn’t Benny post some uncalled for content and then sheepishly claimed his account was hacked?
Respect is earned, never granted.

I've let go of tradition, it is being taken from me by a much more powerful movement that being the government, pop culture, media, universities and so on. I will hold on to the values my mother taught me and that is to always find my way in this world what ever the cost, to always talk my mind and not fear the consequences, to be truthful at all times because you can't lose any argument when you are being truthful, to protect my family at all costs and to help those that are in need. That's coming from someone from this generation being discussed, I don't agree with woke culture, I didn't agree with the protests pulling our statues down, I don't believe in blanket opinions of any race or religion, I think this whole safe space crap has turned us into a pharmaceutical companies dream with anti depressants everywhere. I am a young man who luckily was taught life is extremely hard and there's no one to blame it's just the way it is, that's what makes it beautiful. Edit: I also don't care if your mrs has big hairy balls
