Mag, I posted this on another thread: Postscript, my used 16-lbs. shot put that I purchased on eBay thanks to a lead from Mag never arrived and won’t. It was damaged in transit so I’ll be getting refund. Semi-bummed about it but my new pair of 16kg KBs will rid me of my sorrow. I have no plans of buying any additional resistance bands. I own Bruce’s stuff and it’s all I need since I’m not a resistance band training type. Wow, shame about the iron shot, wonder how the hell something like that could possibly get damaged during shipping ? My guess is the packaging, by their standards, was so damaged they deemed it undeliverable, without regards to the content. I recently order five 20 lb bags of Epsom salts from amazon. It was sent in three packages, 2x40lbs, and 1x 20. I happened to be in the garage when the delivery driver pulled up. The boxes were badly damaged, and he asked me if I wanted them, or he would return. The bags of salt were undamaged, so I took delivery. maybe the eBay seller felt it was easier just to refund the purchase

I believe Pierini’s iron shot was being delivered by the post office so that may explain the difference (?)

It probably went straight through the Flat Rate box I'm guessing it was shipped in and was lost/thrown away/or just purloined by a seasonal employee.

Ok, if you're still interested here's another ebay cheapie that the seller is accepting offers, so who knows, take a 'shot' with a low-'ball' offer... www.ebay.com/itm/16-Pound-Shot-Put-Ball/174558329507?hash=item28a47cbaa3:g:ck8AAOSwi9Vf1scD

Thanks for lead Mag. I’m going to follow it for a couple days and then submit an offer. I’ll keep you posted. Ok, cool, I like the 'old school' look to that one, just keep in mind that new ones can be had for $41 with free shipping, so unless you specifically want a 'vintage' iron shot I wouldn't give him much more than original asking price due to the additional shipping charge. If I were buying it I'd contact the seller with a $15 offer plus shipping and send him this link for offer price 'comparable' verification... www.ebay.com/itm/Cintz-Track-and-Field-Heavy-Duty-Cast-Iron-Shot-Put-Multiple-Weights/124192744838?hash=item1cea76e586:g:9XkAAOSwcp9exEs1If he's reasonable and making a few bucks on it he'll take your offer...

It’s gone. Misread that bids were going to be accepted for two days. That makes strike 2.

I have not purchased new exercise equipment in about 30 years. I think since when my gym membership ran out in 1990ish. I invested the money (about $185 at the time) in more equipment to add to what I already had. Along the way I picked up another bench, some dumbell bars, and a rowing type aerobic machine free off Craigslist. This year the boss, my wife, 'allotted' me $100.00 for Christmas. I decided to try and online shop a few things in the last week or so. I want to pump up my pec size, especially upper pec. I found the Ebay auction for a Hydraulic Power Twister and won the bid for $14.50, but it was rejected saying they could not ship to my state (really?). I think it was because the item goes for $30-$85 everyplace else. I then ordered it for $30.64. It looks like a giant hedge clipper. I received it and it works well, but only in positive range, which made me order the coil spring twister ($37.85 that has yet to arrive) and looks just like the power twister but is supposed to also have the negative pushback I am looking for. I also found an ISO 7X for $24.68 which has yet to arrive. I'm curious to see what these are like which is the problem with online shopping as I didn't get to try out in the store like I use to. Will also like to see if they last . I read the hydraulic can leak after 5 months regular use. Total, includes shipping and tax, about $93. I'll keep all posted on what I receive and how they feel.

I've got everything I need equipment wise.....heavy bag, 2 sets of rings, homemade paralettes a flat bench, some dumbbells, an Olympic bar, medicine ball, ropes hanging from the rafters, skip rope, heavy bands, a rucksack and 4 big gymnastic mats I rarely use the bench except for when I do dragon flags and I haven't done them in a awhile...same with the dumbbells just going out to my garage on a cold, rainy day like today is the issue....it takes me a long time to warm up and stay warm The only thing I really want is another rope to hang from the tree.....my wife isn't too hot on that since I broke my wrist falling when the old rope broke An obstacle course would be nice.... and if it snowed enough here, I'd get x-country skis again.... and snowshoes

It’s gone. Misread that bids were going to be accepted for two days. That makes strike 2. I just checked and I see that a $15 offer was accepted....just like I said I'll be on the lookout for another, but ya' gotta' act fast when you see a bargain. About a week ago I saw a vintage 'Apollo' Exerciser that someone was selling for $21 or Best Offer. This thing was MINT with all the parts and original box, it appeared to have never been used. The guy was also not gouging on the shipping, I think it was around $10-12(?)...In this type of condition a mint Apollo can easily fetch upwards of $60. Sure enough, after I thought about it for a half a minute too long and finally submitted my full asking price offer...BAM...someone snatched it out of my grasp. Oh well, they'll be more

I see Mags is an ebay gamer. I think it comes from growing up in NYC... As a kid I'd cut school with a friend and we'd head straight into the city and up to Canal Street (Chinatown) where all the 'junk' shops were. Then we'd scour the bins for watch bands, casings, and guts, so that we could assemble a few watches for basically pennies. We'd then head down to the ferry and sell them to tourists and business people on their way from/to... Made a few bucks for our effort, and then headed back to Canal Street and bought ourselves pocket and throwing knives along with a 'Shuriken' or two for the growing collection. Then it was over to a luncheonette and blow whatever cash was left on a bacon and egg feast before the ferry and train ride back home. *If I had more time I'd be snatching up and reselling some of these absolute bargains I come across, like the MINT original Bullworker (Tensolator) I picked up for a co-worker after he tried mine and wanted one for himself. I paid under $18 (offer accepted!) for it and shipping was another $12. I charged him $20 and told him to make up the difference by buying me lunch. He likes the Bullworker so much that he's bought me TWO lunches so far...tee-hee

A small loop of rope with plastic handles. A floor. A pushup board for occasional use. Re the obstacle course. The local supermarket on a busy day. Part of the challenge is staying safe from being crushed by erratically-moving hippo's. No snow this far north, at least at sea level.
