Anything taken to excess can be detrimental to your health. Ms Page can keep her workout suggestions and expert’s opinions to herself.

It actually takes very little consistent exercise to maintain the musculature of the body. People who spend hours in the gym to me are beyond the point of diminishing returns. I do only pushups and bodyweight squats consistently now, occasionally beat on a tire with a sledgehammer. Some days I do 4 simple dynamic tension moves. I look better than I did at 30 when I was lifting 3 to 4 days a week and putting in over an hour each day. Not saying I'm "jacked" or anything like that, but what's the point in that beyond vanity anyway. I'm aging very well, I would say mostly due to not getting fat, not smoking, and minimal alcohol use.

Read the article, boil it down and it says "Excess ages you" which I totally agree with.

I'm going to take a stab at a little science which is not usually my forte so if something is incorrect those in the know can correct me. No matter what, if You train too hard for too long, that stress can have a negative impact on Your body/results. This happens by forcing a massive increase in Your body's production of the catabolic hormone cortisol. I believe cortisol forces muscle wasting and body fat storage. I have beat my body to the ground with work and exercise in the past. Beating Your body up with either is not a good recipe, no matter what anyone says. You don't have to kill Yourself to be in shape. Diet has a big part in it also. Exercise is supposed to enhance Your life not hinder it. I think I heard TR say this before," You can work out hard or long but You can't do both". Moxohol, How did I do with my science lesson, ?
