Vegans have higher testosterone than folks on other diets. With some pretty significant caveats: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2374537/pdf/83-6691152a.pdfOverall, vegans/omnivores are not substantially different from one another in terms of hormonal profiles. Overall men have lower testosterone levels than our daddies and granddaddies did, but it's most likely caused by the fact that we are all fatter than our daddies and granddaddies were. High levels of bodyfat increase estrogen and reduce testosterone. A lot of this stuff is oversold, anyway though. Natural hormonal changes in the body are not dramatic for most people and do not alter functioning in any meaningful way. It's scientifically proven, for example, that if you eat a bunch of eggs first thing in the morning and sleep with the blinds open, your testosterone will rise. However, no one who does such a thing will suddenly turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger in his primer. In fact, any changes to body composition will probably be unnoticeable. Also, I drink soy mild almost every day, have for about 7 years now, and I don't have women's breast. All people in the fitness industry do is lie to us to sell us something.

I didn’t bother reading the whole article, but this jumped at me where it says, “Since biscuits and chips aren't vegan, he'd switched to mainly fruit and nuts.” I think there is the real truth, he cut out crap food and the study was only for 12 weeks. Do vegan for 2 years and get back to me. Every vegan / vegetarian I know is either fat or anorexic and never look healthy. I’ve shared this before, but my wife has a doctor friend and he says his sickest patients are vegans/vegetarians. I have heard of a few people who thrive on being a vegan, and don’t tolerate a meat diet well, but for 99.9% of the population, they need to eat meat, our bodies are designed for it. I’m reminded about the woman who took her cat to the vet because he was sickly. The vet asked what the heck she had been feeding it, the owner replied that she was vegan and so was the cat!! Does anyone have a time machine I can borrow, so i can go back to year two of my vegan adventure and meet with mrdave? "but for 99.9% of the population, they need to eat meat, our bodies are designed for it." We are omnivores. We can eat meat, but we are not designed for it. Saying that is like saying you have to lift weights to gain muscle. Our bodies do not know if the amino acids we put in our pie holes are from meat or lentils any more than my chest knows if I was bench pressing or doing a push-up. The only living being mentioned in your post who NEEDS meat is the cat. Cats are carnivores and were designed to eat meat. I will now go and prepare myself for all the, "but look at my canines" posts.

I have finally found a source for, and tried, raw milk! Wow! It is delicious! It's been so many years since I've drunk milk or eaten any dairy. I haven't missed it / found ways to compensate, but it's great to have a source for those times when the desire is there.

Most of the vegans i see look weak, frail with poor skin and seem to age faster than they should not to mention that Male vegans are usually very feminine in the way they act and look . I eat VERY low carb and sometimes no carb days and my libido and energy is high all the time .
