If you only want a matching pair of 1# - 2# clubs, 3/4" Sched 40 black pipe weighs 1.13#/foot (12"). If the pipe lengths are threaded, you can add caps to one or both ends for additional 0.14#/ each cap. Ain't nothing like the real thing--Bay-Beh--ain't nothing like the real thing.... 😎

Recently the topic of Indian Clubs was posted and some videos were posted which got me curious... Here's another decent video for beginners that I found on youtube; a person can use milk bottles, dumbbell handles, a couple of sticks, whatever, and still do their joints some good....

I really enjoyed this thread. Nice to see you back Magnus. About twelve years back I trained with two five pounds sledges and also lever exercises with a twenty pound sledge. I really liked it. A favorite boxing conditioner of mine was hitting two wall mounted car tires with the double five pound sledges. Sort of doing a vertically mounted drum solo. Make sure you are not too close to the tires because I did hit myself in the forehead with a sledge on an unexpected angular rebound the first time I tried it. So, I have used my plastic bats as-is to learn some club moves. They're fine for that and very cheap. I've seen some foam bats for kids at dollar stores that looked interesting since they would be slightly heavier than the hollow ones... ....OR, you can have these nice well balanced and virtually indestructible one pounders that I found on ebay delivered right to your door for $20...they even come with a "Free Carrying Case"

Thanks. Just ordered a pair of these! You're gonna love 'em... I took a chance and ordered them a few weeks ago. Found that they're the exact same clubs that cost twice the price everywhere else

Not that I'm at anywhere near an advanced level with the clubs, but I actually prefer the one pounders when first learning the movements or for movements that I have down pat but doing mucho reps. It's pretty amazing how something so light can be so very effective

Many of the people who teach Indian Club exercises say that the vast majority of individuals never need to progress past 1 lb. clubs to get the therapeutic benefits. Beyond 3 lbs. you're getting into the sport of Indian Club swinging and not the exercise.

Beyond 3 lbs. you're getting into the sport of Indian Club swinging and not the exercise. I would definitely agree ! ... I now own and use my 'polypropylene' clubs in 1, 2 & 3 pound sizes for the more traditional methods of swinging, but also own steel clubs in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 pound pairs and individual 35 & 45 pound clubs. I don't necessarily use my steel clubs in the 'traditional' way, I'd say the heavier clubs are used more similarly to what they're doing in this video...

This is the same guy who is instructing in the previous video... He's using either a 35 or 45 pound 'Bruiser' club, and anyone who's ever had the opportunity to handle a club of that weight knows just how BEASTLY this guy really is, all I can say is WOW

I made my Indian clubs from some salvaged table legs. They are about 3lbs each and about 24" Nice !

Charlie Chaplin is a brilliant physical comedian, noted for his pratfalls. It's easy to just pass him off as a skinny klutz, as that's a role he plays a lot. But actually, he was incredibly athletic.
Check out this famous scene from The Great Dictator. Observe how he pulls himself up the curtain and effortlessly jumps onto a waist-high table. He was a really good dancer.
