I also want to improve my highbar hang times . In addition to improving unassisted hangs, I want to improve my grip assisted one and two arm hangs ; I believe there are benefits to prolonged assisted hangs beyond grip improvement .

Every since You mention this in the past I've been messing with one arm hangs again. If You're doing grip assisted one arm hangs try using a bath towel. The farther down You hold onto the bath towel the more work the hand on the bar gets. I agree with this,"I believe there are benefits to prolonged assisted hangs beyond grip improvement." For myself and from what people like John Kirsch M.D. says, the shoulders, back, and stomach get good benefits. From my personal belief, I always work my finger extensors muscles. I do 1 super slow fingertip pushup followed by opening my hands wide and hard for reps.

Maintaining what? Why just maintaining? Are You still using the Proform Hybrid Trainer for cardio?

There is a flaw in Pierini’s Fall 2019 goal of a Pull-up hang hold of 1:50. It should be 2 minutes. Here is the accounting logic. I was at our local fair and here was a booth called “Beat the Bar”. For $10, if you could hang for 2 minutes you won $100. Any middle-age guy that is getting close to retirement should be looking for ways to supplement his SS payments.

With more persistent hanging perhaps I can get over 6' tall again or am I being delusional again? Fear holds me back from using Gravity Boots .

Met one of my Fall 2019 goals early with this effort today of 25 bar dips at my office. Working on the others.

Another pull-ups test the other day. Fall 2019 goal is 18 reps so I’ve got work to do.

The two-hand KB swing with a 24kg KB for 100 reps timed is not one of my Fall 2019 fitness goals but it’s one of several fitness benchmark tests I periodically do to see where I’m at in the cardiovascular-respiratory department.
Pleased with my effort today of 100 non-stop swings in 2:35. Been chasing my 100 burpees timed goal and getting some spillover benefits.

Achieved another Fall 2019 goal this morning. Did a pull-up hang hold of 2:02. Goal was 1:50. Last effort a couple days ago was a weak 1:09 and recent best was 1:33. This was a total surprise as I had just abandoned a planned 30 minutes weighted pull-ups and chin-ups workout after two rounds, feeling like I needed a rest day. Known lifetime best is 2:08. Feeling pretty good about this.

Feeling pretty good about this. The physical test I took for the FDNY required a dead hang to pullup and max points was holding for 2 minutes. Happily, I maxed it even after the mile run, 8 foot wall, 5 foot wall, obstacle course and 120 pound dummy lift, shoulder and carry. Those 2 minutes were like an eternity

Those 2 minutes were like an eternity Thanks for sharing your blast from the past. I enjoy reading other people’s yesteryear triumphs. I think today’s surprise performance was made possible by a couple weighted sets before to acclimate my grip for the time under tension load that followed. Also, I did something different today of periodically leaning back with my head and this seemed to transfer grip fatigue to different grip areas. I may have had a Eureka moment with this discovery that I’ll test next time.
