Waste of time if you ask me ! It don't cost much for resistance bands these days . Combine it with OT isometrics for PAP & then use resistance bands afterwards & you have an unbeatable combo. The bands provide "accentuated negatives". Something I can't get with free weights alone due to leverage factors (Yes, I know free weights do provide motor skills.)

Might it be a good idea to edit that video to give it a title like "Make Your Own Resistance Bands"?

Go to Youtube. Click on the video. Below it is "EDIT VIDEO" in a blue box. It's obvious from there on, Bruciepoos m8.

I made my own in years gone by with old bicycle inner tubes. Free, in the sense you already had them in your bike tires. Hands smell though due to the rubber, but you can wear gloves. Not the strongest and not as much range of motion, but free and manageable.

Bicycle tubes make good yielding isometric exercisers. I first saw them used as that in Boy's Life, the Scouting magazine, in the early 1960's.

bicycle inner tubes. free at the local bike shop from repair trash. I cut strips from bicycle inner tubes and tie them and make strong sun-resistant rubber bands from them. Been doing it for years. But do they have enough stretch to use as exercise bands? I just use flat elastic bands and wrap them around my hands. The bad ones will deteriorate and snap but the good ones will last, even in a hot vehicle out in the desert like mine.

Yes, I often get into my car on a hot day and drive out into a desert to work out. Well, you and the Mrs should relocate to Vegas then. . We have plenty of hot summer days for you to get an intense workout in the mid afternoon sun.

Bruce was goofing on me, but I actually do that! - but, as u can see from my avatar, i am not exactly playing with a full deck, as they say. (I wuz going to post a photo of me in Death Valley at 130F, but i guess u can't post pictures here. Just as well. I don't want to make it too easy for them - the ones that hide in my walls and under my bed - to catch me!))

Lazy , impatient beings like me can create a variety of loop sizes with well tied, un-elegant knots. I've not made loops. I use Shen's hook handles and use mini bands (aka booty bands), long loop bands and long thin wide bands. You can tie a loop onto the end or part way along a band or tube to either use as a handle or to attach to a handle or door attachment etc. I have also cut some of my long loops and tie loops onto the ends as in the pic below so I can attach them to handles, door attachments or to be able to wrap them around posts. At the moment I'm using small loops on one of the bands and a large loop on the other so I can pass the other end of the band through them to wrap around posts. Loops are fairly easy to tie and untie so you can do this during the workout between exercises if need be. To undo the knot push it towards the middle of the bend rather than towards the end. It will undo much easier. There's a Youtube video below that demonstrates the loop to use, m8s.
