This looks like a good place to drop this video by Ebony Rio on the topic of Isometric / Isometrics exercise used in tendinopathy for rehabilitation / rehab from tendon pain and applicable exercise to favor stronger tendons and strengthening:
At 8:55 she mentions the difference between isotonic and isometric muscle contraction when used for: pain, motor drive and muscle force. From the info presented, it appears to me that George Jewett knew what he was talking about when it came to strengthening tendon and connective tissue.
